Sail-Force Limited is the operating company for the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy (WPNSA) and is based at an award winning building in Portland Harbour. It is an important contributor to the local community and economy.

The Sailing Academy is widely recognised as one of the finest sailing venues in the UK. Having been chosen as the venue for the sailing events of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, its profile is set to increase significantly over the coming years.

A unique opportunity now exists for someone to drive the development of the business during this hugely exciting time and who can maximise the unique opportunity offered to the Sailing Academy. The role will be wide ranging, and will include business development, marketing and event management. Ideally with a background in sailing and events management, the successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and will need to demonstrate experience of budgetary control, setting and achievement of ambitious targets.

BOAT VALETER/FINISHER

JOB DESCRIPTION

Sunseeker Sales Group requires a Boat Valeter/Finisher for preparation and cleaning of new and used Sunseeker Powerboats to a very high standard + general yard duties. This is a varied and interesting job. as part of a professional team.

Experience in the Marine trade required, with the ability to work supervised and unsupervised.

Ideally you have the ability to carry out gel and/or lacquer repairs.

We often have to work to very tight deadlines so flexibility in working hours will be expected.

Common sense is absolutely imperative!! Must have relatively unscathed driving licence.

We have a very low turnover of staff – most of us have been here for more than 5 years. –The reason? We look after our employees!

SALARY

40 hour week. 22 days paid holiday – Salary dependant on experience

BOAT CAPTAIN - £25,000 pa approx

JOB DESCRIPTION

An experienced and qualified Captain urgently required on a permanent basis to run a 15.6mtr Motor Yacht which has been aptly described by the media as the cross between a “Ferrari and a Bat-boat.”
Owned by a prestigious property development company, the yacht will be used for corporate events.

Main Duties:

Meeting and greeting all guests, prospect resident and clients who board the boat

Providing the highest level of customer service to all those when aboard the boat

Guiding and touring the guest along the inland waterways of the Docklands

Ensuring all pre-start checks and health and Safety requirements are adhered to

Maintaining a clean and tidy appearance and presentation of the boat; pontoon and surroundings

Creating a ‘can do, will do, with pleasure’ culture within all aspects of the team


Profile:

A mature ‘people person’ who enjoys working in a team and is capable of delivering exceptional customer service to high profile and valued clientele.

A responsible individual who is willing and capable to getting involved with behind the scenes management of the operation and is a proactive thinker who brings solutions to the table for potential and current challenges

You must be a hands-on solution finder with boat engine experience and is capable of dealing with day to day yacht maintenance.
Customer service is crucial for this position as the successful candidate will have direct contact with VIP guests and potential customers.

SALARY

A salary band of £25,000 to £26,000 is on offer
