FLOTILLA / BASE ENGINEERS - MEDITERRANEAN

JOB DESCRIPTION
 
Flotilla
1.     Proactive daily maintenance and checks
2.     Assisting with the general running of flotilla
3.     Socialising with guests.
4.     Assisting with the organisation of group meals, BBQ'S and Punch parties.

Base
1.       Engine rebuilds.
2.       Assisting with general running of base.
3.       Callouts and support of the clients and flotilla crews

General
1.        Completing turnaround service checks and yacht preparation.
2.        Briefing of clients on boats mechanical systems and safety equipment
3.        Engine servicing such as oil and filter checks/changes
4.        Maintenance of outboards for tenders.
5.        Emergency call outs for breakdowns on any of the fleet
6.        Safety of all clients including safety briefings
7.        Assisting clients with queries and problems.
8.        Any other duties as directed by the Base Manager.

Working conditions: Main duties will centre around the yachts, the base and ports of call.  Working hours vary and you MUST be flexible to operational requirements.
At the beginning of the season you will be expected to carry out the fleet refit..  During this period the yachts are prepared for the season, which will include painting, cleaning and repairs. There is also a lay-up period at the end of the season.

Your performance will be monitored throughout the season, direct through client feedback (mainly through weekly questionnaires) and you will be given formal and informal appraisals given by your Base Managers.  

Requirements:
  • Experience maintaining diesel engines
  • Experience Maintaining 2 & 4 stroke outboards
  • Working knowledge of 12V DC electrical systems
  • Practically minded and an ability to solve problems
  • Social able and a positive personality
  • Experience in a Customer focused environment

JOB DESCRIPTION
 
Main duties and responsibilities:

Flotilla
1.     Safety of all clients throughout the week
2.    Presentation and maintenance of yachts
3.    Full first day briefing to entire flotilla
4.     Daily briefings to clients on route and weather information
5.    Safe mooring of all yachts each day
6.    Writing weekly reports on the flotilla.
7.    Assisting the lead crew with all aspects of running the flotilla
8.    Socialising with guests.
9.    Yacht preparation and cleaning
10.    Day to Day running repairs and assistance to break downs or call outs.
11.    Ensuring hostess & engineer are fulfilling their duties.
12.    Cleanliness & good presentation of lead boat at all times.
13.     Regular checks on equipment and specifically Safety Equipment.
14.    Greeting clients and assisting boarding.

Bareboat
1.    Yacht preparation and cleaning
2.    Deliveries, call outs and maintenance
3.    Skippering charters of upto 9 clients at a time
4.     Base support when not on charter
5.    Regular checks on equipment and specifically Safety Equipment.
6.    Greeting clients and assisting boarding.
7.    Briefing clients on safety and yacht systems.

General
1    All yacht preparation on turnaround days
2.    Briefings
3.    Sharing knowledge of local area
4.    Advising on sailing questions
5.    Assisting with the organisation of group meals, BBQ's and punch parties.
6.    Any other duties as directed by the Base Manager.

Working conditions:
Main duties will centre around the yachts, the base and ports of call.  Working hours vary and you MUST be flexible to cover operational requirements.
You may at times be required to assist with other flotillas either as a Skipper or Engineer to work as a Bareboat Skipper.

Your performance will be monitored throughout the season, direct through client feedback (mainly through weekly questionnaires) and you will be given formal and informal appraisals given by your Base Managers.  

Requirements:
  • RYA Offshore Yacht Master with Commercial Endorsement or equivalent
  • Ability to work under pressure and make difficult decisions
  • Experience in a customer focused environment
  • Socialable and positive personality
  • Strong organisational skills

A vacancy exists for a Manager in our covermaking and upholstery department.
The applicant will need to be experienced in all aspects of covermaking and upholstery together with the ability to template and fit covers, a full driving licence will be required.


Based in Southampton in our purpose built, air conditioned loft, this is a permanent position, with opportunities for advancement for the right applicant.


Experience of cutting using a digital cutting machine would be an advantage, but training will be given.


The applicant should be self motivated,  work using their own initiative, as well as part of a team.
