JOB DESCRIPTION


Up skill current watersports staff working at the Shangri La resort to deliver safe, high quality and efficient water ski and wakeboard tuition.
Implement regular maintenance for the ski boat and equipment.
Understand and help maintain a good relationship with hotel management.
Implement systems that will standardise and improve the efficiency of the towable operations.
Encourage existing staff to actively sell the products and encourage repeat business.
Act as a member of the team in the delivery of activities and tuition when needed.
Training the team to be multi-discipline and versatile.
Encourage ongoing development of English language skills among the Omani staffing team, especially water ski and wakeboard specifics.
Train Omani Instructors to exceed customer expectations and maintain a high level of client feedback. 
Regularly report back to the Operations coordinator on status and performance of Instructor Team, as well as making recommendation towards the development of the project.
Advise and recommend the equipment needed to setup a suitable water ski and wakeboard operation.

Sales and Customer Support Administrators

You will be working in a busy sales office environment, dealing on a daily basis with our customers, covering order input, order progressing, telesales and technical support.

These varied and diverse roles are based in our UK office in Hedge End, Southampton. The roles will be responsible for providing an exceptional level of support to the internal Sales team and to both UK and international clients.
Duties will include sales order processing and reporting, customer communication through our network of dealers, conversing with our distributors and direct clients worldwide, various sales/ marketing projects (including UK boat shows) and other general office duties.

Knowledge of the Leisure Marine industry is an advantage and a keen interest in sailing would be useful. Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
SALARY

Starting salary is £15,250.

Key Responsibilities

Decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements, abstract from low-level information to a more general understanding
Specify requirements with an appropriate level of detail to allow the development teams to create architecture specifications, perform design and development activities, and ensure testability
Participate in software development reviews and inspections of requirements documents created by peers
Manage requirements traceability and track requirements status throughout the project life cycle

Technical Requirements

Education and Experience

Must possess proficiency and work experience effectively using Microsoft Office products

Job Role:
Reporting to the Design Manager, the ideal candidate will have design office experience gained within a fast-paced marine manufacturing environment with a focus on project-based support to production. The key requirement will be to create a package of information including drawings and bills of materials that can be used for class certification, production, purchasing and sales. 

The Individual:

Relevant degree in small craft/ ship design - BEng/BSc- 
Experience of production (preferably aluminium craft)
Good level of naval architectural principles
Computer literate - 2D + 3D modelling exp.
AutoCAD proficient
SolidWorks and or Rhino an advantage
Good Structural Design knowledge
Preferably experience in Aluminium boat building/design
Numerate

DESIGN ENGINEER/NAVAL ARCHITECT - SOUTH, UK

Candidates will need to demonstrate experience in the following areas:

Highly proficient in 2D and 3D CAD, Particularly Autocad & Solidworks

Systems and layout drawings and specifications.

Performing simple hand structural calculations to back up designs

Project managing small individual design projects.

2-3 years minimum experience in a similar role.

You will be responsible for leading a contract delivery team, and achieving customer satisfaction, company profit targets and quality standards.

Principal Tasks

Plan each project to ensure efficient utilisation of resources and labour
Assess materials and labour required for project and initiate purchasing
Agree final scope of project with client and provide a full specification
Organise and manage project meetings from start up to close down, including regular site briefings
Manage communications across the project team in line with Quality Assurance manual
Take responsibility for site management with regard to personnel and work.
Manage the project installation, monitoring and reporting on client satisfaction, cost control, and standard of work, taking action to improve where necessary.
Prince and invoice work, noting variations to original plan.

Manage, motivate and control the performance of sub-contractors

Purpose of Job

To assist in the design and development of projects new and existing, from modelling components through to producing fully resolved drawings to be issued to production. 

Main Tasks

To produce production drawings for various components and sub-assemblies for both new and existing projects, primarily using Unigraphics NX 3-D design software but also using Autocad 2-D as required.
To model and draught all aspects of boat design including hull, deck and flybridge fittings and their respective sub-assemblies.  Ensuring that all work is carried out within drawing office procedures and protocols.
To be able to communicate all design information clearly to others involved in the design and production of the project (working in liaison with the purchasing and planning departments).
To be able to work on projects as part of a small and focused team as well as issuing design information to tight deadlines with minimum supervision where required.
To produce drawings that are suitable for production, classification societies and formatted in such a way that they are suitable for owner’s manuals.
To continually strive to develop personal skill and knowledge in all aspects of marine design, to enable future advancement in both personal ability, and future, larger products

Scope of the Role (Level of Decision Making and Problem Solving)

Resolving various design problems and issuing information, in the form of drawings and other data, to the relevant department (ie. production/development)

The job holder will also be liaising dealing directly with all other parts of the design office (interiors, concept, engineering, etc), and the technical director.

Experience

Experience of Design, Production / engineering using 3-D and 2-D design software.

Education/Training

Would ideally suit a Design Engineer or Marine Engineer.
Computer literacy is a requirement, with a sound knowledge of 3-D design software, AutoCAD 2-D design software and spreadsheet ability preferred.
