Following their recent launch, Fairline Yachts are seeking a talented Technical Support Engineer to join their design office team
Fairline Yachts produce a range of high quality Powerboats, ranging from 38-78ft, with an emphasis on quality, customisation and looks. Leading from a recent partnership with Vripack, an international Engineering firm based in the Netherlands, Fairline Yachts are seeking a talented Technical Support Engineer to work closely with the Design Office on a number of key areas. 
Whilst this is a marine brand, experience in this field is not necessarily essential. The successful candidates duties would include, but not be limited to:
– Creation of owners manuals and technical documents for owners packs.
– Building manufacturer specifications
– Administration of the various software packages used. Renewing licenses, setting up work stations etc. 
– Creation of Bills of Materials for the Engineering team
– Custom project administration. 
You'll need to be something of a multi talented individual. Highly Technical with a keen eye for detail. Your organisation skills will be exceptional and you'll be able to work a range of varied tasks within multiple projects.
In terms of background, this would indeed suit someone such as a Technical Author or similar, and offers a massively diverse role for the right person.

We currently have vacancies based at our Southampton and Chichester branches for qualified Marine Engineers to carry out service, diagnostic, repair, overhaul and installation work on site and at our workshops . To be considered for this position you must have completed a Marine Engineering Apprenticeship to level 3 and ideally attended manufacturer training courses provided by industry leaders such as Volvo Penta, MAN, Perkins and Yanmar. You will require experience of equipment and systems on boats of up to 40m and ideally of the engine and gearbox brands we represent. You must have excellent problem solving and diagnostic capabilities together with knowledge of marine electrics, engine management systems and general boat systems. You must work to the highest standards unsupervised and take responsibility for your work, an uncompromising approach to quality of work and customer satisfaction is required.
You must ideally reside local to our Southampton and Chichester branches which will be the main place of work, although operating from other branches may be required. The job is based mainly along the South coast, however when required travel within the UK and overseas with nights away is a requirement for this position.

Our Poole branch is a Volvo Penta Centre and main dealer for Honda Marine, Evinrude, Yanmar, Yamaha and Torqeedo. The Service Manager is responsible for all aspects of the day to day running of the workshop ensuring excellent customer satisfaction together with high engineer productivity and efficiency.     
To be successful in this role you must have a desire to deliver the highest level of customer service at all times and be able to meet the challenges and demands of servicing a range of customers  including individual boat owners, boat builders and trade.  You will be responsible for a team of Service Advisor, Service Administrator, Engineers and Apprentices. You must therefore have good communication and personnel management skills and the ability to motivate your team to deliver consistently high standards of work.  As our largest Volvo Penta branch intimate knowledge of Volvo Penta product and systems is essential to provide technical support to our Volvo Penta Service Dealers and customers in general. As the UK's Volvo IPS training centre you will be responsible for delivering training to the Volvo Penta network on IPS and drive systems. Overseeing the selling of workshop time, providing quotes and costing for jobs together with monitoring work in progress is a significant part of this role, previous engineering and workshop control experience is therefore necessary.  Working closely with the Branch Manager, Parts Manager and Business Development Managers you will be expected to provide input into growing and developing the business. An understanding of business commerce and budget setting is required reporting to the Branch Manager and Management board with engineer efficiency, sales and debtors.
You must also be very computer literate and a team player able to assist other members of the company when required with your experience and knowledge.

Job Role Summary
 
This is an ideal role for an experienced sail repairer who wants to experience life overseas and all the benefits that come with working for a large charter company and hotel chain. Working as part of a large team, based in Vounaki Marina the sail repairer will take ownership of the sail loft, its inventory and the repair of all canvas work, primarily for the yacht fleet but also dinghy and windsurf sails from our beach-clubs.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Ensure all yachts have the correct sails at all times
  • Provide a full inventory of the sail-loft at the end of season
  • Repair/maintain both yacht, dinghy and windsurf sails on an on-demand basis
  • Provide a mid-season report on the condition of all of the yacht sails which will form the basis of an order for the following season
  • Assist with all maintenance involving canvas work in the yacht department
  • Maintain a tidy and working sail-loft at all times
  • Keep an effective store-room with adequate spares at all times

Personal Specification
Knowledge, skills & experience required
  • Previous experience working in a sail-loft repairing a wide range of sails and working with different fabrics is essential
  • Previous customer-service experience
  • Sound knowledge of sail repair and making techniques
  • Knowledge of sail theory would be beneficial

An established brand within the field of Electric and Electronic installations to the Superyacht and luxury yacht industries currently require a skilled Engineer to join their growing team. 
Off the back of a very busy 2015 they have a number of exciting new projects around Europe and further afield, and so are in need of Electrical or Electronic Engineers to join them. 
Not necessarily from a marine background, you will have experience in the installation of security systems, alarm systems, or similar, ideally on high end projects such as marine, aerospace, property or alike. You will be used to installing both simple and complex systems, and ideally have worked with a broad range of manufacturers and products. Of interest but not necessary is some experience in designing of electrical circuits and diagrams. 
Whilst this role will predominantly be UK based, there will be an amount of international travel, likely for periods of 7-10 days at a time, to locations within Europe or Middle East locations. This could amount to as much as 2-3 months of the overall year.
