Key Responsibilities Areas

    Manage the commercial operations of Oman Sail Watersports and Marine Services in Mussanah
    Develop a business plan for Oman Sail Watersports and Marine Services in Mussanah
    Develop and manage Oman Sail's commercial products in diving, sailing and charter under the brand name - SeaOman
    Develop and manage a marine services operation including marina management and a commercial workshop offering utilizing Oman Sail's existing staff and facilities
    Work with the sales team to create sales and marketing strategies to meet commercial revenue targets from the products
    Lead and manage the development of a Corporate Leadership and Personal Development Centre at Mussanah
    Install efficient reporting, customer service and work flow process and procedures
    Contribute to the organizations' strategic direction by participating in the development and continuous review of the strategic plan
    Create and manage annual budgets, including monthly revenue targets.
    Management of all operation staff within a commercial operations department
    Ensure that all staff have SMART objectives to achieve, which are in line with the strategic plan.
    Responsible for designing, implementing and managing a development plan and training programme for all personnel that deliver commercial water sports activities.
    Develop new opportunities to enhance the value of Oman Sail and SeaOman brand
    To liaise with the Centre Managers on up coming courses, events and community events, as instructors will be a shared resource.
    Liaise and work with relevant Ministries.
    Ensure there is a good relationship with landlords of sites where operations are based
    Ensure ongoing market research is conducted.
    Identify market place trends that may impact on Oman Sail's products, programs, teams and events.


Skills & Attributes

    Graduate Degree in Business Administration, Sport Administration or relevant field with at least 8 years of successfully managing a profitable water sports operation with financial responsibility
    Sound project management experience.
    Accurate anticipation of future consequences and trends and is "future-oriented"
    Proven ability to plan and implement resources effectively in the delivery of sailing services and programs.
    Commercially driven
    Experienced in delivering (or selling) activity based corporate learning programmes
    Demonstrate the commitment necessary to meet demanding targets
    Strong attention to detail, process driven and strong business planning credentials
    Ability to use key OS computer packages: Excel, Keynote, Word
    Excellent presentation skills
    Board room level gravitas

A difficult call as our current Yachtmater is young, dedicated and dynamic with the ability and patience to communicate at all levels and motivate when necessary – sadly he has to return to the UK.

We are a family business operating an RYA Sailing Academy in the Middle East running theory and practical courses on our two yachts Corby and Kerr 9m – ability to maintain and look after our yachts is essential.

You will also be involved in our youth programme and Duke of Edinburgh Award runs to Bahrain and UAE.

RSA also has a fully staffed RYA Dinghy Sailing Centre so additional SI qualification could be useful.

Good package for the right person. Staff currently have the full calendar month of August off with return flights, plus Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Easter Sunday off.    Own large room in spacious staff apartment

Your main duties will centre around the yachts, the base and ports of call.  Working hours vary and you must be flexible to cover operational requirements. 

In this fulfilling and exciting role you will be required to be responsible for and undertake the following duties:

Flotilla:

Presentation and maintenance of yachts
Full first day briefing to the entire flotilla
Safety of all clients throughout the week
Daily briefings to clients on route and weather information
Safe Mooring of all yachts each day
Assisting the lead crew with all aspects of running the flotilla and socialising with guests

Bareboat:

Yacht preparation and cleaning
Deliveries, call outs and maintenance
Skippering charters of upto 9 clients at a time
Base support when not on charter
General

All yacht preparation on turnaround days:

Briefings
Sharing knowledge of local area
Advising on sailing questions
Assisting with the organisation of group meals, BBQ's and punch parties
Any other duties as directed by the Base Manager

Requirements:

RYA Yacht Master Offshore with Commercial Endorsement
Ability to work under pressure and make difficult decisions
Experience in a customer focused environment
Socialable and positive personality
Strong organisational skills
Happy to complete all paperwork for Croatian work permits, including a police record check

A general understanding and interest in boats would be desirable as would experience of using VHF radio, but this is not essential as training can be given. The flexibility to assist with Town Quay events and the willingness to help on the Marina when required would be an advantage.

Key responsibilities

The role involves responsibility for all plumbing, engineering & electrical installations. There is a strong element of systems design, equipment specification and procurement. Involvement in commissioning and trouble-shooting of new and existing systems is also a key part of the role. Reporting to the Head of Wroxham, the applicant will oversee the established Technical department lead by the Engineering & electrical Team Leaders.

The successful applicant should have the following qualifications and skills:

. Considerable hands-on experience with marine systems including engines, drivetrains, hydraulics, Electrical & Electronics
. Excellent fault-finding and trouble-shooting skills in marine installations
. A highly practical nature with good ability to foresee problems and visualize efficient and cost-effective solutions
. Computer literacy and familiarity with CAD software
. Good communication and drafting skills
. A thorough understanding of sailing & motor yachts and the marine environment
. Willingness to travel in the UK and abroad when necessary

Terms & Conditions:

. Core hours are 0800 - 1730 Monday to Friday
. Occasional management cover for Saturday morning overtime
