A longstanding customer of Marine Resources seek a Service Director/Head of Service to run their growing aftersales department.
As agents for a number of well known production vessel brands as well as two superyacht names, this brand pride themselves on offering top quality to their customer base at all times. With a wide range of new and used vessels on sale at any one time, plus returning custom, the service department is constantly busy. This role will be to oversee the various service and comissioning departments across Asia, and co-ordinate them in such a way as to remain profitable and economical.
You will ideally have come from a background with one of the well known UK or European production brands, and have experience running the aftersales side of a business successfully. Excellent knowledge both from a management point of view as well as hands-on will be imperative at all times, plus an ability to work with clients in a clear and concise manner.
Relocation to a busy Asian capital will be essential for this role, and assistance will be supplied both for accomodation and Visa, as well as relocation to the area.

Salary:

Rutland Sailing Club is seeking a General Manager, who will be responsible for proactively and enthusiastically managing the day-to-day operations of the club in a culture of achieving high standards, maintaining and developing the commercial aspects of the club and delivering a service which exceeds member expectations. The Manager will work with the Management Council to develop the facilities of the club and lead the team of staff and contractors. 
Rutland SC is one of the largest inland sailing clubs in the UK with over 1500 members and a full racing and training programme for the full range of boats from Optimists to 27ft Keelboats plus an extensive open meeting and external training programme. We are one of only five RYA National Sailing Academies and the only one inland. We are recognised as an RYA Training Centre, High Performance Club, Champion Club and OnBoard Club.
The successful applicant for the General Manager post should: 
  • Have strong management, administration, communication, interpersonal and organisational skills together with strong IT and report writing skills 
  • Be able to lead, develop, and sustain effective working relationships with people at all levels both within and outside the club 
  • Be commercially aware with sufficient attention to detail to manage finance processes and reporting and IT systems. 
  • Be able to support delivery of the club's sailing and training programme with overall responsibility for the club's in-house sailing school and workshop department. 
This permanent, full-time position will be demanding and requires a reliable, hands-on and self-motivated leader.  He/she must be flexible, and availability for weekend working is essential throughout the year, on typically 30 or so weekends on a planned basis with other staff, and occasionally evenings if required. Personal sailing knowledge is useful but hands-on general management experience is essential.

Responsibility:
 
Mange the sales process to achieve annual targets
Manage an internationally recognised RYA powerboat scheme.
Manage existing training and charter vessels, and source additions to the fleet, through business relationships with yacht manufacturers, distributers and private owners.
Create Charter holiday packages for both the local and international market.
Management of Charter's operational budgets, including revenue optimisation as well as control of operating costs.
Responsible for producing Operating Procedures, which are specific for each activity within Charter. Furthermore, train all staff to make sure they understand these.
Train new and existing staff and carry out assessments. Including organising any external examinations.
Able to skipper all vessels for trips, deliveries and courses.
Responsible for the safety and conduct of all vessels and staff, both on and off the water, including the maintenance of safety equipment. 
Lead the booking process and driving sales and seeking out new markets.  
Advise the Head of Commercial Operations on all operational developments including, staff training, operational capability, licensing changes, business opportunities, successes and new business opportunities.

We'll be operating our ferries from early in the day to late at night – 7 days a week, 365 days a year… making crossings to and from the island even easier for Isle of Wight residents, commuters and visitors to the island.

We’re keen to expand our small, friendly Scoot Crew to coincide with the launch of our exciting new routes – Yarmouth to Lymington (now launched), with Cowes to Portsmouth, Cowes to Hamble and Cowes to East Cowes – all planned to start during the next 9 months.

We are looking for people that are experienced in maritime operations with the right personality as well – If you have a great manner about you, with fantastic customer service skills and the ability to build a rapport with your fellow crew then we’d love to hear from you.

Working as part of a small, friendly team on board Scoot’s high-speed craft you should possess the following essential qualifications:

•      RYA Yachtmaster (Power) Commercially Endorsed or
•      MCA Boat Masters Licence Tier 2, level 2 (as a minimum – preference may be given to applicants possessing Officer of the Watch qualifications) with high speed endorsement, passenger endorsement and radar endorsement
•      Full STCW 95 Basic Safety Training
•      ENG-1 MCA approved medical (current or no reason to obtain)
•      VHF DSC radio certificate or higher
•     
In addition, you will:

·         Be experienced within a customer-orientated environment
·         Have excellent communication skills and a friendly manner
·         Have a cool head to be able to deal with any emergency situations
·         Have a reliable means of transport and excellent timekeeping
·         Ideally be an Isle of Wight resident or be prepared to move to the island

No two days at Scoot are the same – you will be expected to work shift patterns from early in the morning until late at night.
