My client, based in Biddulph, Stoke-On-Trent, is now looking for a Lead Marine Engineer to join the team. You must have excellent problem solving and diagnostic capabilities together with knowledge of marine electrics, engine management systems and general boat systems. You must work to the highest standards unsupervised and take responsibility for your work, an uncompromising approach to quality of work and customer satisfaction is required.
 
Main Duties and Responsibility's
  • Installation of propulsion components, such as shafts, propellers and rudders.
  • Fitting of fluid power/hydraulic circuits, including the construction of hard and flexible pipe
  • Installation and alignment of marine engines and gearboxes
  • Ensuring all mechanical and on board electrical equipment is fully operational at all times
  • Maintaining an adequate supply of spares and equipment
  • Keeping a clean and tidy workshop
  • Preparing all boats and their equipment for use prior to client’s arrival
  • Working off site if required, to maintain a fully working product, i.e. attend customer service calls.
  • Briefing clients on boats, upon arrival as to functionality of mechanical systems, electrical systems and safety equipment on board

Qualifications and Experience
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team and use your own initiative
  • Ability to work to close deadlines
  • Knowledge of marine diesel engines and systems (Beta Marine/Iveco/Vetus engine diesel engines desirable)
  • General marine experience including a working knowledge of plumbing and electrical work with 12v and 240v electrics is crucial.

  • To work in tidy, efficient and safe manner at all times
  • Clean full driving license

Reporting to the Head of Naval Architecture, the role of Junior Naval Architect will exist to support the Design and Naval Architecture team based out of the Sunseeker Technology Centre in Poole. Working to Produce Composite Structural designs and calculations for all major aspects of a vessel, you will work to ensure that your work is to the highest of standards and complies with the various levels of classification and regulation.
The role will be incredibly varied, working across the range, carrying out weight estimates, completing production drawings and speaking extensively with the compliance department to ensure that all works adhere to the likes of CE/RCD/Lloyds or DNV. 
The ideal candidate will have graduated with a degree in Naval Architecture or similar and have gained 2-3 years shipyard experience, ideally in a Production Boatbuilding environment. However a strong graduate with a placement year working for a relevant employer would also be considered for the opportunity.

Are you a Captain, Senior Crew or work in a Shore-Based role in the Superyacht sector, but in need of a new and exciting challenge. 
A Yacht Management brand based in the Principality of Monaco is seeking a highly skilled individual to oversee a key customers fleet of yachts from an Operational standpoint. Duties will include vessel logistics, staffing, budgeting and maintenance. You will work closely with a number of areas of the business  (Crew, Technical and Charter) in order to ensure that the vessels are run to the most exacting standards. 
You will need to be a strong multi-tasker, possessing a keen knowledge of all aspects of running a yacht(s). As the owner is quite a hands-on and involved individual, the successful individual will need to be able to deal regularly with an UHNW owner, processing and explaining technical documentation in easy to understand terms, justifying the reason for various maintenance/costs and why they are required in order to ensure the fleet are at their best. 
The perfect candidate will have worked extensively in this market previously, or alternatively within the commerical sector as a Fleet Manager/Yacht Manager/Operations Manager or alternatively have held a Captains role with some prior shored based operations experience. 
The role itself will be based in Monaco, with around 15% travel per annum. You will need to be located in or near the principality, or have access to property in the area that would not require a major relocation. Overall this is a strong opportunity with a well known brand to further your career within Superyacht Management
Salary:

Sentinel Yachting of Palma de Mallorca are looking for a good all round shipwright to add to our fantastic team. We require someone who is able to turn their hand to a lot of different jobs as we are involved in a very wide range of refit projects. 
The successful candidate will have a strong background and knowledge of composites and be able to carry out both structural and cosmetic repairs. They must be able to work with wood and be able to carry out both repairs and fabrication of woodwork projects. Any mechanical and engineering experience would be a huge plus.
We work in an environment where English tends to be the spoken language, so Spanish is by no means essential. Sentinel would offer as much help and guidance as necessary to any candidate willing to relocate to Mallorca. 
Salary: €27,000 Net and 30 days holiday per year
