Job Purpose

To sell our clients’ products and services by working closely with shipyards, ship-owners, offshore oil and gas operators, engineering houses, our clients offices and agents worldwide providing quotations and technical and commercial advice and support. You will be expected to gain market, customer and product knowledge to maintain and profitably grow sales in your areas of responsibility.

Principal Responsibilities
  • To achieve sales to the offshore markets (and to other special projects as may be nominated from time to time): to both newbuild and retrofit sectors with a likely focus on Korea, Singapore and Brazil.
  • To receive, interpret requirements of enquiry specification including technical specifications, documentation requirements, delivery requirements and commercial conditions and produce quotations, bid documentation and technical information as required. Liaison with third party equipment and service providers is likely to be required.
  • Undertake bid management (e.g. defining and coordinating inputs from the engineering and procurement departments) to ensure we bid comprehensively having properly considered technical, commercial, costing, pricing, risk and competitive issues and adhere to the company bid approval process.
  • Plan and manage allocated territories according to agreed market strategy.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with new and existing customers, agents and offices through planned and targeted sales visits.
  • Profitably grow sales into the retrofit and new building sectors.
  • Monitor and report on activities and feedback received to meet monthly management reporting deadline.
  • Assist in developing pricing structures for each region.
  • Champion Water Systems products within our clients sales network, ensuring all personnel are adequately informed and trained on the products, their potential markets and pricing structures.
  • Attend seminars and professional working group meetings, to represent our client on professional bodies if required.
  • Attend exhibitions within your allocated territories.
  • Attend external customer meetings and make detailed technical product presentations to shipyards and ship-owners. Where appropriate promote complimentary products from our clients portfolio.
  • Follow up quotations and maintain CRM system with customer feedback.
  • Assist other members of the sales team as and when required.
  • International travel will be required.
  • Help to improve continuously the performance and processes of the sales team.
  • Work in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
Knowledge / Experience / Skills
  • An engineering degree or equivalent and / or a number of years of experience of working in the industrial, marine or offshore markets.
  • Familiarity with offshore technical, documentation and quality standards would be a strong advantage.
  • Sound commercial awareness, including working with contractual terms and conditions is essential.
  • Able to demonstrate success in sales roles, preferably to the offshore market.
  • Fluent in use of MS Office, particularly Excel and working knowledge of ERP & CRM systems.

As a Yacht Trainer you will be responsible for the delivery of sailing instruction and for providing excellent customer care to our Neilson guests to ensure they have a successful holiday.

Working as part of a team, you will teach sailing to guests of all ages and abilities following the RYA syllabus and Neilson programme, ensuring all guests obtain appropriate developmental skills. QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Background as Naval Architect, Deck Officer or Marine/Mechanical Engineer and 5-10 years experience with a shipping company, classification society or similar. Bachelor degree in Marine, Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Maintain current knowledge of up-to-date technical research and relevant projects, plus maintain an oversight of new technology for use onboard our client’s ships, and run test programs on such equipment together with ships personnel.
  • Proven ability to manage the financial aspects of the assigned function, including the successful identification of operating efficiencies. Manage headcount within an area. Manage a staff in a positive and productive manner by motivating, developing and managing employees. Utilize and administer the disciplinary action process through coaching and counselling to improve performance or terminate employment. Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Also prior experience in managerial coaching and team building in a similar environment would be helpful. The incumbent may be required to travel, frequently and on short notice.

Purpose of Position

To lead, manage and coach a Production Supervisory team with a total workforce in excess of 70 Production, Maintenance and Production Engineering staff. All of the roles are to work alongside the current maintenance team and within the fleet operations department.  The initial vacancies are to work with the current 68' Clipper Round the World Yacht Race fleet on their return to the UK; later vacancies will also encompass the arrival of the new 70' fleet.

The successful applicants would be required to possess a positive 'can do' attitude, with the ability to work hard, unsupervised and in a professional manner.  Roles will vary from 'general hands' sorting inventory out, moving sails, making sure kit goes for servicing on time etc. to more specific commissioning and technical roles.
