WATER SPORT ADVISER

JOB DESCRIPTION

The King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) is a groundbreaking new world class University being set up on nthe shores of the Red Sea in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The major responsibilities of the Watersport Adviser role are as follows:

Under the supervision of the Marina & Watersport Manager, the Watersport Advisor scope will include but not be limited to:

. Work with PMT and Service Provider to establish and supervise the full setup of the Watersport Centre.

. Create all rules and regulations for all Watersport activities to ensure safety and environment friendly operation.

. Work with the Service Provider in developing and implementing a Clean Boating Programmer.

. Liaison with KAUST Harbour Master in the day to day operation.

. Work with the Service Provider in establishing and supervising all wind driven activities operation.

. Work with the Service Provider in establishing and supervising the Jet Ski, Water Ski and towables operation.

. Work with the Service Provider in establishing and supervising the Ocean Rafting and Parasailing operation.

. Work with the Service Provider in establishing and operating beach operation in all KAUST designated beaches, including beach equipments, beach cleaning equipments, beach furniture, life guard towers and non-motorized toys.

. Work with the Service Provider in establishing and supervising the male and female lifeguard operation stating all necessary equipment and rescue vessels needed in such an operation including lifeguard training.

. Create a Watersports activities and competitions program all around the year in coordination with other departments.

Competencies
The Watersport Advisor must be self motivated, initiative, organised and have the ability to cope up with pressure and stress from such fast track projects. He needs to have a high level of environmental and safety awareness.

Qualifications
The Watersport Advisor needs to have the following minimum qualifications (or equivalents):

. Watersport Instructor (preferably a RYA, Dinghy & Windsurfing Instructor).

. Power Boat Instructor (preferably a RYA, Yacht Master Instructor /Power).

. Minimum 5 years experience.

. Life Saving experience is a must.

. Preferably experienced in educational institutes and self directed groups.

. Preferably experienced in the diving and fishing business.

VOYAGE COORDINATOR

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Ellen MacArthur Trust requires an experienced Voyage Co-ordinator, for a nine month contract (January 2009-End September 2009). In 2009 the Ellen MacArthur Trust will sail Round Britain with stopovers in 20 key ports. The voyage will be made up of 20 legs with a total of over 100 young people recovering from cancer and leukaemia sailing on board. Each leg will be linked to the Hospital where the young people on board were treated including a visit to talk to the medical staff, those currently in treatment and their families about the voyage. The trip is a unique opportunity for the young people now in recovery to communicate with those in treatment.

Knowledge of sailing and running a sailing project is essential as well as Powerboat Level 2 and a clean driving license There will be extensive travel around the UK and the job will be based away for 6 months. This post will run from Jan - end Sept 2009. It is essential to have good communication skills and to be able to work as an integral part of a small team.

Raymarine, the world leader in marine electronics, is currently seeking a UK & Ireland Marketing Manager to drive sales, brand recognition and visibility within the marketplace.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

To produce an annual marketing plan and reports for UK & Ireland, in agreement with the UK & Ireland Country Manager and Head of Corporate Marketing to achieve all the objectives of the territory and to ensure compliance with the Corporate Marketing strategy
Prepare and manage the UK & Ireland marketing budget and forecast
Manage and organise all major UK & Ireland boat shows and regional exhibitions
To implement and manage the UK & Ireland end user training program that covers navigation and radar user requirements
To produce a monthly report on marketing activities in UK & Ireland, ensuring alignment with the Corporate Marketing strategy
Create a UK & Ireland product launch platform in conjunction with Corporate Marketing and the relevant Global Product Manager
Manage the product press review programme and press releases within the UK & Ireland

Manage the purchasing of UK & Ireland media space, both print and online via media buying agencies
 Manage the marketing, storage and distribution of promotional merchandise and point of sale material required within the UK & Irish market, including clothing, banners, flags etc
Ensure that the UK & Ireland website is updated with relevant offers, promotional material and any service dealer/retailer changes
To implement and manage the UK & Ireland end user training program that covers navigation and radar user requirements
Manage the UK & Ireland sponsorship programme in accordance with Corporate Marketing objectives and guidelines
Organise the UK & Ireland service dealer and retailer conference within budget
Using the material provided by Corporate Marketing, produce publicity materials as required by the UK & Ireland sales operation including price lists, flyers, exhibition materials etc.

Work closely with Corporate Marketing to define territory requirements for marketing materials
Database management that includes end user mail outs and data cleansing

Experience / Knowledge & Skills:

Specific marketing qualifications desirable
Relevant in-depth experience of the marine industry
Good telephone manner
Computer literacy essential. Literate and numerate
Able to communicate with all levels of management and staff
Able to liaise with vendors, press contacts, dealers and retailers etc

Travel:

Occasional national and international travel as required

Nature of job includes some weekend working, unsociable hours and attendance at Boat Shows etc. Time in lieu by arrangement. Incumbent needs to be able to work steadily and consistently in a methodical manner

Our Client is an internationally leading provider of interior product solutions for yachts, and is also one of the fastest growing marine companies in UK.

They are currently recruiting for a self motivated individual who speaks a high level of Italian to join their technical sales support team.

Their duties will include:
• Manage enquiries both internally and externally, distributing to sales team members as appropriate.
• Provide direct support for Sales & Marketing Director and Export Sales Manager as required.
• Coordinate sales information – including maintenance of customer databases, pricing guidelines and sales handbook.
• Develop relationships with key distributors by regular communication provide them with the appropriate support at boat shows
• Manage boat show / sales visit preparations
• Order product samples and marketing materials
• Obtain Grants, where applicable
• Organise shipping of Boat Show Stands preparing any necessary documentation
• Provide boat show support for distributors

The Working week will be based on usual office hours, operating on a rota basis on Friday’s

Previous Experience:
