Our client is a well established shipyard based in NE Scotland – they are a key player in the marine industry throughout Scotland and the UK.

The yard has an extensive capability for building and refit, catering for a range of vessels including; Life Boats, Ferry’s; Fishing trawlers; and tugs.

Following exciting expansion and recent opening of their 1,600 sq. metre refit facility they have a state-of-the-art temperature and humidity controlled paint spray booth, capable of taking vessels up to 21m in length, and up to 50 tonnes.

They are recruiting for various positions and have an urgent requirement for an experienced foreman to lead an enthusiastic team working with state of the art paint facilities.

You will have substantial experience in applications of 2 and 3 Pac paints - particular working knowledge in Awl Grip would be ideal; and ability to demonstrate high quality spray finishes.

Running a team of 6 to 10 people; previous team leadership experience is essential.

The Royal Yachting Association, based in Hamble near Southampton, is the national governing body for the sports of sailing, windsurfing, motor boating and powerboat racing.

An experienced PA with excellent secretarial and organisational skills is required to support the Chief Executive, RYA Council (Board of Directors) and Operations Committee. The role will also involve the organisation of the RYA's Annual General Meeting and Awards ceremony and liaison with the office of HRH The Princess Royal (the RYA's President) regarding arrrangements for visits to RYA events.

Applicants must have PA/secretarial experience at director/senior manager level and are likely to hold a recognised senior secretarial qualification. Good IT skills and excellent written English, including minute-writing skills, are essential. The PA will be able to communicate confidently at all levels, handle confidential information with discretion and manage a busy workload calmly and efficiently.

OVERSEAS ENGINEER - GREECE / TURKEY

JOB DESCRIPTION

The majority of roles available are based in Greece, as a split position both out on the water on Flotilla and on Base as the season progresses.  These positions are to start ASAP until the beginning of November 2010.  There are then winter opportunities for you to follow on to to gain all year round employment with us.
In this fulfilling and exciting role you will be required to carry out the following:
Flotilla
Proactive daily maintenance and checks, assist with the general running of flotilla, organisation of group meals, BBQ's and punch parties and socialising with guests.
Base
You will be responsible for engine rebuilds, assisting with general running of base, call outs and support of the clients and flotilla crew
In General
You will be required to carry out turnaround service checks and yacht preparation, brief the clients on boats mechanical systems and safety equipment, engine servicing such as oil and filter checks/changes and maintenance of outboards for tenders.
Emergency call outs for breakdowns on any of the fleet.  You will be responsible for the safety of all clients including safety briefings and assist clients with any queries they may have.
We are looking for candidates who have Marine Engineer experience as well as a customer focused outlook, working for Sunsail gives you the opportunity to both utilise and improve your engineering, electrical and maintenance skills, whilst working alongside one of your overseas teams.

OEM ACCOUNT MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION

An opportunity exists within the busy sales and marketing team at Spinlock for an 'OEM Account Manager'.

Spinlock have relationships with all of the major OEM boat builders around the world. The ideal candidate will be an individual who is capable of communicating confidently with OEM customers and their departments to ensure growth and development of these accounts. Confident in working and developing relationships with these important customers, the role involves agreeing new rope holding packages with technical teams and designers, as well as pricing and supply terms with purchasing teams.

The role will also include agreeing specification of rope holding, deck packages and custom products for new yachts including superyacht and project builds, liaising with designers, project managers, builders and yacht captains.

The candidate will require a good knowledge and understanding of yachts and boatbuilding and a strong background working within a busy team environment. Good computer skills are essential. Overseas travel will be required along with attendance at boat shows. A second language, both written and oral, preferably French would also be of benefit.

Title: Technical Sales and Marketing Executive
Reports to: Managing Director, Cowes.
Based at: Spinlock Limited, Cowes, Isle of Wight.

Job purpose:

To plan and carry out direct marketing and sales activities, so as to maintain and develop sales of Spinlock’s range to major accounts and specifiers, in accordance with agreed business plans.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
1. Maintain and develop a computerised customer and prospect database.
2. Propose, Quote and Sell the Spinlock product range to OEM, new build racing yachts, superyachts and dinghy customers.
3. Manage the development and sale of custom products, finishes and solutions to Spinlock customers.
4. Work with the design team to develop new and custom products.
5. Support the Spinlock product range through email, telephone and regatta support.
6. Undertake sales visits to Spinlock customers globally
7. Through attendance, provide Spinlock presence at Boat Shows globally.

Person profile:

Personal Situation: Must be mature and domestically secure. Able to spend one or two nights away per month without upsetting domestic situation. Able to commute reliably to office base. Able to work extended hours on occasions when required. Must have clean or near clean driving licence.

Computer skills:Must be adept in use of MS Office 2000 or later, particularly Excel and Word, and ideally Access or similar database to basic level, Internet and email.

Literacy and Numeracy: Able to understand sales calculations and basic business finance, e.g. gross margin percentages etc. Must be a very competent writer of business letters, quotations and proposals.

Business and Selling Skills: Must be an excellent face-to-face and telephone communicator. Able to demonstrate success and experience managing customers and achieving genuine sales development.

SALARY

The salary range is £30K plus dependant on experience. We offer 23 days as standard holiday (includes 3 days compulsory Christmas shutdown) plus bank holidays. There is a stakeholder pension in place but at present is not contributed to by Spinlock. You would also be covered for all travel under our group policy, including your partner. We do not offer Health insurance but are reviewing this with pension in due course. Our client is looking for a new boat sales executive to join their friendly team based on the South Coast. With 21 years in the marine industry our clients offer a ‘one stop shop’ for motorboat enthusiasts.

The prime responsibility of this position is to sell new boats. Specifically the successful candidate will handle service enquiries, process leads, arrange demonstrations for clients, negotiate sales, close deals, hand over boats to clients as well as maintain the client liaison in conjunction with After Sales.

The successful applicant will be involved in second hand boat sales and other sales activities which will include promoting our clients services and products and wherever possible promoting insurance and other commission earning activities.
