Rutland Sailing Club is seeking a Club Manager, who will be responsible for proactively and enthusiastically managing the day-to-day operations of the club in a culture of achieving high standards, maintaining and developing the commercial aspects of the club and delivering a service which exceeds member expectations. The Manager will lead a team of 20 full and part-time and indirect staff.  The Manager will work with the Management Council to develop the facilities of the club and lead the team of staff and contractors.

Personal sailing knowledge is useful but hands-on general management experience is essential.   
  
Rutland SC is one of the largest inland sailing clubs in the UK with over 1500 members. It runs a full sailing, racing and training programme for the full range of boats from Optimists to 27ft Keel boats plus an extensive open meeting and external training programme. We are one of only five RYA National Sailing Academies and the only one inland. We are recognised as an RYA Training Centre, High Performance Club, Champion Club and OnBoard Club. The club has its own in-house sailing school operating year-round, balancing commercial RYA courses and in-house training for members and club fleets. The club has facilities on-site including; a workshop, extensive club house with bar and catering facilities, a training class room block and chandlery. Our on-water facilities include: 4 pontoon jetties, 120 moorings, 11 rescue craft, 4 race committee boats and 2 workboats.   
  
Salary:

Account Manager required. You will be expected to generate income through the existing customer base and be confident selling technical marine products. Responsible for customer service and retention of key clients, you will also provide technical support and identify new opportunities for driving growth.  You will have a sound understanding of market activity in the marine leisure sector.
 
You will join a driven and dedicated sales force, reporting into the Sales Manager and be responsible for developing a strategy to increase market share.  You will be expected to help with all bids, negotiating and pricing and work closely with the design and production team across new projects providing input for product development based on your knowledge of the clients' ongoing needs.
 
Essential

 A strong track record in sales or account management.
