The ideal candidate should have experience of working in a small office-based team, be computer literate and familiar with basic MS Office applications. DINGHY AND WINDSURFING RACING COACHES AND INSTRUCTORS - VARIOUS, UK

The coaches will be contracted by the RYA, through recent Sport England funding, for between 20 and 70 days per annum (depending on their availability/ skills) and deployed throughout England, working with a number of clubs/centres either within a specific region or across the RYA Zones.

Each Regional Club Coach will be responsible for delivering training, promoting the RYA's race training schemes to volunteers within clubs (with the purpose of increasing the skills of our volunteer base) and identifying talented young sailors and encouraging their development within the Junior and Youth programme.

The ideal candidate will have proven competence as a qualified coach/ instructor who has the potential to become an RYA Level 3 Racing Coach and/ or Senior Instructor and be able to inspire sailors, parents and coaches alike.

WATERSPORTS INSTRUCTOR - CHINA AND SE ASIA

China has for 5000 years been cut off from the West and consequently you will find that everything is different here even the simplest things like the way to open a banana (they consider the stalk to be a handle and open from the other end).  If you want to come here then come with an open mind, explore and discover these intrinsic cultural differences.  It will be completely different to anything you may expect and is full of interesting experiences.

Beijing Sailing Center is the only sailing school in China offering courses to suit anyone following the RYA/BCU guidelines. We are recruiting seasonal and full time watersports instructors.  The skills that we seek are dinghy sailing, yachting, kayaking, windsurfing and raft building.  Applications from multi-activity instructors will be more successful, especially with regard to year-round positions.


During our summer season from May to October, we are situated close to Beijing, while during our winter season from November to April we relocate to tropical Southern China.  Thus enabling our full time staff to skip winters and experience the broadest variety of Chinese cultures.

Main purpose of job


To enable children and adults to learn watersports in a safe but fun manner.


Main responsibilities:

  1. Running water-sports courses for children and adults, whether on land or water.  Coaching of competent sailors.  Assessing the skills in respect of awarding qualifications or determining equivalence.
  2. Running and supervising alternative activities whether or not sailing related, in the case of inclement weather or otherwise.
  3. Assisting on the beach and in the dinghy park with the rigging, launching, recovering, de-rigging and wash down of the boats, equipment and centre.  Laying & retrieving of marks and organizing races.
  4. Carry out boat, equipment and centre maintenance, in order that the equipment and environment is maintained in good order.  Keeping a record of damage to boats, equipment and the centre.
  5. Greeting visitors, whether in person, by email or by phone, attending to their questions, showing them around the sailing centre, generally being hospitable and encouraging people to learn to sail.  As required, interfacing with the local community, expats and membership to promote sailing.
  6. Carry out safety duties, including but not limited to operating a safety boat or watch tower.  Supervision of children, when unaccompanied children are present in the centre.
  7. Watching out for potential hazards and risk in and around the sailing centre and either, in the case of an apparent danger, taking action immediately to address the problem or reporting the potential problem.
  8. Attending to sailing-related administration in a timely fashion, including but not limited to qualification records and certificates.
  9. Any other duties as directed by the Chief Instructor.

CENTER ADMINISTRATOR - SOUTHAMPTON, UK

This is a diverse position, focusing primarily on administration and secondly on sales. The role also involves marketing and customer service. The post holder will help ensure the company's office runs efficiently and bookings/ enquiries are handled correctly. This position will suit someone with experience as a Senior Administrator and/or Personal Assistant and who is now looking to take on more responsibility.

Experience and knowledge of the RYA training schemes is useful (but not essential as training will be provided if you do not have this product knowledge already).
