Our fleet includes Optimist dinghies, RS Fevas, Topaz, Lasers, plus selected higher performance dinghies (Laser 3000, 29er). We are also seeking to encourage our young to get involved with our keelboat fleets, including Redwings, Bembridge One Designs and Illusions.

While the main focus of the role is to develop our youth sailing from the club, we also seek to develop broader participation with other East Wight and Island sailing clubs, and also encourage our cadets to participate in regional and national regattas. An important aspect of the role is also the development of our young instructor organization. The development of our adult training is also an objective in time.

General terms:

  •     Full-time during peak July/August summer season
  •     Ideally support for a number of cadet training events in the extended season (4-5 weekend and/or school holiday training sessions between Easter and end-October)

Main Responsibilities

    Ensure projects are completed within budget targets.

    Procure specialist/long lead parts ahead of production to ensure on time delivery to client.

    Liaise directly with clients and/or appointed project manager on all specification, order progression and logistical matters.

    Provide technical sales support to existing and new customer accounts to create technical specifications prior to quotes and ordering. Undertaking pre-sales technical inspections and customer visits as required.

    Work with the build team to improve build process techniques, and produce build process manuals.

    Identify and implement where agreed with the Directors, improvements in manufacturing methods and/or practice.

    Work with all classification societies, ensure that products comply and rules are up to date

    Create new parts, bills of materials and routings to allow timely production of standard and prototype parts..
