You will do this with a team of assigned quality staff of which you will supervise and train. You will ensure timely completion of internal and external surveys, support design/engineering and planning as well as be responsible for internal and external audits.
The successful candidate must have experience in a Quality Control managerial capacity within a reputed shipyard. You will be fluent in English both spoken and written. You will have the necessary ISO Course certificates and have knowledge of ship building material specifications and shipyard standards, procedures and class approved drawings.Knowledge of physics, hull structure, blasting, galvanized coating, pipe parameters, block fabrication etc. will be paramount. Responsibilities
- Functional testing of all boat models engines and systems to ensure compliance to standards and reliability and safety
- Quality inspect all boats to meet aesthetic standards and produce inspection reports
- In process checking and auditing of boats throughout the build process and reporting findings
- Be proactive in working with the manufacturing and support departments to ensure that quality issues are recognised as early as possible through the FBA process and reporting
- Produce FBA reports for electrical and engineering tests and Finished Boat Audit
- Work with the manufacturing and QA departments to ensure that our client produce quality boats that meet the specifications required including International Standards such as ISO, ABYC, NMMA as required.
- Support the audit process for development of a quality management system that complies with ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001;2004
Knowledge, skills and Ability Requirements
- Knowledge of Quality systems auditing such as ISO9001:2008 / ISO 14001:2008
- Requires an accurate approach to test and inspection data collection and analysis.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques
- Requires detailed knowledge of both Cummins and Volvo marine engine and drive systems
- 2 yrs minimum quality inspection testing experience
- Experience within a capital goods industry or automotive manufacturing or marine industry
