Now, you can help us by providing customers and colleagues in the yacht industry with guidance and training on the application of our paints, and evaluating new products from us and competitors. The work will involve carrying out filtration, application and microscopy analysis and reporting on the results, providing our sales and technical service representatives with the product information they need, and helping our quality control and with the construction boat show displays.
About a quarter of your time will be spent abroad at sites throughout Europe, and possibly beyond. You'll visit marinas and boatsheds, as well as boats at moorings or on slipways. This will, sometimes, mean working at height, so you must be happy to do this. You also need to be physically fit and a good swimmer. In terms of personal qualities, you obviously need to be outgoing and adaptable. While in terms of IT competency, you should be familiar with Outlook, Word and Excel.

Job Description Overview:

Job Specification:
The role consists of an annual average of 45hrs per week working on a shift basis including some weekends. There is a 'summer' and 'winter' rota, where the months of March to September are the busiest.
The successful candidate will be involved with all enquires and responsible for the whole sales process through to a conclusion. They will deal with existing customers, with the ability to answer and act on questions given to them.
They are an integral part of the operational 'Dry Stack' team and will be launching, lifting and caring for all the members' boats.
The maintenance of the Fork Lift truck will also form part of their shared responsibilities within the team.
On a shift basis they will be responsible for opening and locking up the site.

Job Skills Criteria:
Proven 'IT' Skills - MS office products (outlook, word, excel)

Can swim with no fear of water
All relevant H&S training will be provided along with all uniform and PPE. The successful candidate will be given full training on the forklift truck to include being put through training to obtain a certificate licence to drive a counter balance forklift, (no previous experience is necessary).

EXPERIENCE

JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY:
Manages and coordinates all machinery related work and ensures that all machinery areas conform to operational requirements. Provides substantial input to specific company projects and delivers project supervision with in-house sources, site offices, architects and other consultants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follows and applies development in technology of above mentioned areas
- Applies relevant rules and regulations in the development of cruise ship design and building, including evaluation of new technology
- Participate in inspections and factory acceptance test (FAT) during the building process. Participate approval process for quay and sea trial procedures.
- Capable to do FMECA, HAZIP/HAZOP or similar risk assessment studies and machinery feasibility studies.
- Ensure and participate vessel’s stability, watertight integrity, SRtP etc. design.
- Follow-up and reporting of building process.
- Follows and applies emission control technology
- Develops Energy Saving and System's performance
- Develops optimized life cycle costs (LCC) procedure
- Establishes studies and recommendations in equipment and design solutions for the various projects
- Ensure that all innovations and lessons learned from existing fleet will be implemented on future new build projects
- Participates in new build drawings, including makers and design approval process
- Meets with potential makers and systems designers
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Extensive experience of shipbuilding and from new building site surveys
- Ability to work under tight schedules.
- Capable to handle large systems and projects simultaneously.
- Ensure good and strong co-operation with yard and suppliers.
- Motivated to work ashore and in multicultural working environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Chief Engineer unlimited licence, Mechanical Eng. or similar.
- Minimum 5 years experience in Marine Operations and/or Fleet.
- Good knowledge of rules and regulations of the classification societies, SOLAS, MARPOL and other necessary regulations.
- Excellent written & verbal English, other languages an advantage.
- Ability to create and maintain strong relationships with remote based colleagues.
- Excellent skills to read drawings.
- Relevant computer skills (excel, AutoCAD).

- Region of responsibility includes Far East (including Pacific rim), Africa, Asia and Middle East.
- Profitably grow regional sales base.
- Submit monthly regional report by first day of each new month.
- Maintain regular contact with each distributor to ascertain future sales opportunities, market developments, competitor activity, on hand inventory, promotional activities planned and how we as a company are performing for them.
- Recommendations for improving and stimulating our market position in each region.
- Understand and report on competitive activity in key markets.
- Feedback to Marketing Services Department, Distributor activity that could be included in PR release.
- Attend sales training and negotiation courses. Ongoing.
- Attend Trade and Consumer Shows as required.
- Work closely with and assist other members of the Sales and Marketing team as required.
- Help to create and maintain both the annual Sales budget information and monthly Sales forecast information.
- Ensure that all personal expenses are kept up to date.
- Develop new Markets and territories within your area of responsibility.
