PURCHASING MANAGER / BUYER

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Client is one of the worlds leading spar manufacturers specialising in a wide rage of both Dinghy and Yacht spars. They are recruiting for a purchasing manager to handle the procurement for production & sales.

Reporting directly to the MD you will be liaising with the sales and production team to ensure orders arrive to the right quality, when required and at the right price.

Profile:

· Working knowledge of companies in the recreational market of the marine industry
· Wide range of product knowledge used to dealing with multiple and varied stock items.
· Dealing and negotiating with suppliers throughout UK and internationally.

· Minimum of 5 years in a purchasing / buying role

Key responsibilities:

· Run Stock Requisition Worksheet to ensure materials are purchased in due time for production and sales.
· Ensure accurate due dates on all outstanding purchase orders.
· Aggressive chase down of suppliers.
· Evaluate reorder quantity and reorder point on a regular basis
· Organise and consolidate shipments in the most cost effective manner, especially for Far East based suppliers.
· Organise sub-assembly operation with outworkers and internal suppliers.
· Ensure supplied items are to the quality defined by Technical Dept. and expected by Sales.
· Carry out rolling monthly stock takes to agreed matrix.
· Communicate between sales and production any issues relating to shortages and quality.
· Ensure new sub-assembly BOMs or item cards are set up correctly and priced.
· Reduce costs through re-sourcing and consolidating the supply of current items.
· Manage overall stock level through smarter use of the purchasing system and just in time supply

PURCHASING ADMINISTRATOR

The ideal candidate will have experience in a purchasing environment, negotiating, working to budgets and have the ability to prioritise own workload.

The position will require support of the existing SAP purchasing strategy to ensure all products are purchased on time to maintain optimum stock levels whilst maximising stock turn and customer service levels.

The applicant must have good IT computer skills plus the ability to fit into a busy sales environment. Knowledge of SAP and the leisure marine industry would be an advantage, but not essential.

PROJECT PLANNER - South

Based on the South Coast, this Award winning company is currently recruiting for Project Planners to set up and plan for a variety of multimillion pound marine interior fit outs.

This is a permanent position where successful candidates will provide a complete project planning and monitoring service to the Contract Managers, using Microsoft Project.   A background in project planning and/or managing projects is essential for this role as is experience in implementing systems, advising teams and customer liaison. The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, an eye for detail and will be methodical.

Candidates must be prepared to travel and work away from home, sometimes for several weeks at a time.

PROJECT MANAGER

The project management role will involve projects under 100ft and include all service projects and refits.

Responsibilities include:
• Management of all new build projects 100ft and under.
• Planning and scheduling of projects and generating scopes of work for designers
• Providing technical sales support to existing and new customer accounts
• Liasing with service division on all refits, repairs and inspection.
• Undertaking pre-sales technical inspections, customer visits, attending trade shows when required and assistance in reviewing and establishing a reliable supplier network.

Requirements:

Working knowledge of Microsoft Project and other planning tools / Microsoft Office
Computer literacy
Ability to travel at short notice for long periods

PROJECT DEVELOPMENT DESIGN ENGINEER

Our client is one of the world’s largest specialised manufacturers of marine glazing within the recreational boating industry. They require a enthusiastic and self-motivated person to join their team as a Project Development Design Engineer to assist in the manufacture of our quality products.

The position involves managing new product projects from concept design through to manufacture. This encompasses definition of customer requirements, concept and detail design, prototype manufacturing, product testing and handover to manufacture.

Applicants should possess good communication skills and the ability to act as the design interface with customers and manufacturing. Applicants will occasionally be required to work off site both in the UK and overseas and work additional hours as required.

PROJECT / PRODUCTION MANAGER

Our client, one of Asia’s leading Motor Yacht Manufacturers, with a range between 40 and 120 foot, currently has an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced Yacht Project / Production Manager. 

Candidates must have strong Yacht project management and Yacht production management experience, as well as being highly skilled fiberglass boat builders

Candidates ideally will have around 10 years experience in similar positions, and be able to supply excellent references from these roles.

The role involves being responsible for large and growing teams – currently between 50 – 75, with ambitious plans to grow the team to over 100 by this time next year.

A strong engineering background and experience with classification compliance is a must.

Candidates will be responsible for the production itself, project management, and managing staff.

CAD / Rhino experience preferred – will get involved from the start of the design process, right up until the finished product.


Fluent English required 2nd and 3rd language a plus.

Candidates must be free to relocate to Hong Kong on a permanent basis.

An international media relations and sports sponsorship consultancy require a new Account Manager to work within our clients sailing department which looks after the PR for some of the most highly professional and well known sailing individuals, teams and events in the world.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years PR agency experience and will have an interest/knowledge of competitive sailing. This is following continued recruitment in development of their Prototype Team.

Following continued growth; doubling sales revenue and boat production over the last three years; they are looking for experienced production managers to join the team… Specific experience in plug and mould making is essential; as well as a background in small craft production management; sail or power.

Design and development information is primarily in written and spoken English.

Fluency in English is a requirement
A good working knowledge of German is also required…
