JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is a leading designer, developer and manufacturer of advanced marine fluid handling systems for ships and offshore facilities. The company specialises in innovative and often highly customised designs for wastewater systems.  They are currently using Marine Resources to recruit for a sales professional with experience with working in the industrial, marine or offshore markets.

Job Purpose

To sell our clients’ products and services by working closely with shipyards, ship-owners, offshore oil and gas operators, engineering houses, our clients offices and agents worldwide providing quotations and technical and commercial advice and support. You will be expected to gain market, customer and product knowledge to maintain and profitably grow sales in your areas of responsibility.

Principal Responsibilities

  • To achieve sales to the offshore markets (and to other special projects as may be nominated from time to time): to both newbuild and retrofit sectors with a likely focus on Korea, Singapore and Brazil.
  • To receive, interpret requirements of enquiry specification including technical specifications, documentation requirements, delivery requirements and commercial conditions and produce quotations, bid documentation and technical information as required. Liaison with third party equipment and service providers is likely to be required.
  • Undertake bid management (e.g. defining and coordinating inputs from the engineering and procurement departments) to ensure we bid comprehensively having properly considered technical, commercial, costing, pricing, risk and competitive issues and adhere to the company bid approval process.
  • Plan and manage allocated territories according to agreed market strategy.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with new and existing customers, agents and offices through planned and targeted sales visits.
  • Profitably grow sales into the retrofit and new building sectors.
  • Monitor and report on activities and feedback received to meet monthly management reporting deadline.
  • Assist in developing pricing structures for each region.
  • Champion Water Systems products within our clients sales network, ensuring all personnel are adequately informed and trained on the products, their potential markets and pricing structures.
  • Attend seminars and professional working group meetings, to represent our client on professional bodies if required.
  • Attend exhibitions within your allocated territories.
  • Attend external customer meetings and make detailed technical product presentations to shipyards and ship-owners. Where appropriate promote complimentary products from our clients portfolio.
  • Follow up quotations and maintain CRM system with customer feedback.
  • Assist other members of the sales team as and when required.
  • International travel will be required.
  • Help to improve continuously the performance and processes of the sales team.
  • Work in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
Knowledge / Experience / Skills
  • An engineering degree or equivalent and / or a number of years of experience of working in the industrial, marine or offshore markets.
  • Familiarity with offshore technical, documentation and quality standards would be a strong advantage.
  • Sound commercial awareness, including working with contractual terms and conditions is essential.
  • Able to demonstrate success in sales roles, preferably to the offshore market.
  • Fluent in use of MS Office, particularly Excel and working knowledge of ERP & CRM systems.

CROATIA SKIPPER 2013 - CROATIA

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently looking for Flotilla and Bareboat Skippers for the 2013 season in Croatia.

Positions are available for 3 or 6 months. You must also hold a UK National Insurance number and UK bank account.

Main duties and responsibilities:

General

  • All yacht preparation on turnaround days including deck cleaning
  • Briefing clients on safety and yacht systems
  • Sharing knowledge of local area in briefings
  • Advising on sailing questions
  • Any other duties as directed by the Base Manager.
Flotilla
  • Safety of all clients throughout the week
  • Presentation and maintenance of yachts
  • Full first day briefing to entire flotilla and daily briefings to clients on route including weather information
  • Greeting clients and assisting boarding
  • Safe mooring of all yachts each day
  • Socialising with guests
  • Day to day running repairs and assistance to break downs or call outs
  • Regular checks on equipment and specifically safety equipment.
  • Assisting with the organisation of group meals, BBQ's, competitions and punch parties
  • Writing weekly reports on the flotilla
  • Cleanliness & good presentation of lead boat at all times
  • Ensuring host & engineer are fulfilling their duties
  • Assisting the lead crew with all aspects of running the flotilla.
Bareboat
  • Skippering charters of up to 9 clients at a time
  • Yacht deliveries
  • Call outs and maintenance
  • Regular checks on equipment and specifically safety equipment.
  • Base/ flotilla support when not on charter
Working conditions:

Main duties will centre around the yachts, the base and ports of call. Working hours vary and you MUST be flexible to cover operational requirements. You may at times be required to assist with other flotillas either as a Skipper or Engineer or to work as a Bareboat Skipper.

  • RYA Yacht Master Offshore with Commercial Endorsement

RYA SAILING INSTRUCTOR WITH RACING ENDORSEMENT - QATAR

JOB DESCRIPTION

Immediate Appointment:  Dynamic RYA SI with Racing endorsement  - must have good coaching experience – permanent position.

Regatta Sailing Academy in Doha Qatar -  is a British private Sailing School  within a 5* location.  The selected candidate would join other RYA Instructors who teach children and adults from beginner to racing standard.  The Academy has a full yacht programme so yachtmaster qualification could be of interest but not essential.

Our programmes includes Schools afternoon activity classes, morning private teaching, ladies and mixed groups – youth and adult racing with regattas.  We are the only operator to offer the International Award Sailing Expeditions on our yachts; bronze and silver to Bahrain and Goldto UAE.

Our fleet includes Dart Catamarans, Lasers, Vago,  Picos, Funboats, Tera Dinghies, Optimists and two racing yachts.

RSA holds a Laser Agency for the area providing boats to Federations, Government bodies and hotels – Agents for Sailing Clothing.

Qatar is a fast expanding Country with a big expat community. Most things can be found in the State with big supermarkets, good hotels accommodation and restaurants.  The weather between November and March is like a warm English summer – on rare occasions temps. can go down to 7c with very occasional rainfall in winter.
Temperatures can rise to 40’s  in July – good sea breezes.

Position will be offered to candidate who shows a genuine interest in the development and expansion of the Regatta Sailing Academy - two year renewable contract to include flights and excellent accommodation. Annual Holiday - month of August to include return flights.  In addition the Academy closes for  Christmas, New Year and Easter Day  All residency, sponsorship fees, etc. are covered by the Academy.

Hours of work are approximately eight hours per day with one day offer per week/two days every four weeks.  During the period of shamals (strong winds) staff get extra time off but we operate a flexi system whereby staff are expected to help out during very busy catch up periods.

SALARY

FABRICATION AND MACHINE SHOP SUPERVISOR - FROM 48,000 USD pa - CARIBBEAN

JOB DESCRIPTION

We repair & make custom made hardware, fittings, railings, pulpits, frames etc. out of mainly Stainless steel, Aluminum & Delrin for yachts, but also for land based customers.
We are looking for a person to supervise & guide our Welders, Fabricators & Machinists (approx 10 people) to ensure that they complete the jobs to the standard expected by the yachts.
The position also at times requires some designing, and creating solutions for work requested by our customers. This includes visiting the yachts, or work sites, to take measurements and see what the job requires on site, make quotes, orders, and if necessary, drawings of the parts to be made.

We are looking for someone with practical experience with, and knowledge of:
Machining on Lathe and CNC Machine, MIG & TIG welding, Metal Bending & Fabricating, Bluprints & Technical drawings.
Attention to Detail and Good Organizational skills are a must.

Experience in Metal work on yachts, Project Planning & Management, Job Assignment, Quality Control and Staff Supervision, is a plus.

Must be Computer Literate, Fluent in English, have a Friendly & Positive Attitude - be a Team Player with Good Communication & Customer Service skills.

Marine Resources is proud to once again be hosting the Marine Resources Boat Show Party 2012 which promises to be the “must attend” event during this years’ PSP Southampton Boat Show.  This years’ party will be held at the usual venue, Wahoo Bar on Southampton High Street and will kick off from 8.30pm till late. It is in partnership with TheYachtMarket, Printing Crazy, 2ndhanddingies.com and the Tullett  Prebon London Boat Show 2013.

As always this is an opportunity for all exhibitors at the Boat Show, marine industry bods and friends of Marine Resources to get together socialise and boogie the night away.  The event is free to attend and there will be brilliant drinks promotions throughout the evening as well lots of other fun and games.

PURCHASING AND PRODUCTION ADMINISTRATOR - £18,000 - £22,000pa – SOUTH, UK

Main purpose of Role

Our client is seeking a Purchasing and Production Administrator. The purpose of the role is to assist the Purchasing and Production departments to ensure the smooth flow of parts and materials through the manufacturing process. Reporting directly to the Purchaser you will chase suppliers and expedite orders to ensure parts are available for production when required. You will also place orders for consumables and assist with stock taking.

This role is ideal for a resourceful administrator with good attention to detail and communication skills. You will need to communicate with production and sales as well as establish good relationships with suppliers. You will be able to contribute to and refine the processes that ensure the smooth running of the purchasing and production functions.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Place orders for all consumables and supplies.
