We are looking for an additional member of staff to join our energetic team to help us ensure that Universal keeps its reputation for being the best kept marina on the Hamble. 
The role is extremely dynamic and incorporates many different aspects of the day to day running of the marina such as daily marina checks, assisting bertholders and tenants, general site and building maintenance, site redevelopment projects and upholding site cleanliness.
You will also be required to assist with our increasingly popular dry stacking facility by providing banksman duties and driving the dry stack forklift for which we will provide full training. A large part of this role is outdoor based in year round conditions. There is also some office-based work including booking in & taking payment for visitor berthing. 
The applicant should have experience in maintenance and a keen eye for detail, be able to work as part of a team but also have the initiative & motivation to complete tasks on their own. As the role is so varied the successful applicant should be adaptable to new tasks & resourceful in finding solutions to different issues. A knowledge of the marine industry would be an advantage but not essential. Must be computer literate with basic knowledge of Microsoft packages.
 
The role will require working some weekends on a rota basis.

On offer is a very diverse role that will offer a strong element of International travel. This would likely amount to 'up to' 12 weeks out of the country made up of a high number of shorter trips, so this is something you'll need to be comfortable with before applying. Golden Arrow Marine is a specialist marine power, systems  and equipment supplier and is part of the Salterns Marina Ltd group based in Southampton. We are UK distributors for Moteurs Baudouin engines, STTemtec exhaust treatment systems, TRAC stabilisers, thrusters and hydraulic systems, Maxwell windlasses and Ultra Marine anchors, we are also main dealers for Perkins, ZF, MAN, Volvo Penta, PRM and Kohler. 
 
We have a vacancy for a proven technical sales executive to be responsible for developing business and maintaining/managing relationships in the North of England, Scotland and Ireland. This will involve liaising with our regional dealers and direct selling to OEM and individual accounts. Meeting sales targets and budgeting as part of the sales team 
 
To be successful in this role you will need to be self motivated and driven to succeed, proven in marine equipment sales and have a technical background. Preferably you will have marine engineering knowledge and be able to advise customers on applications and solutions, providing quotes and information directly to the customer. This is a customer facing role, not an office based position. Ideally you will live in the region, you will travel regularly throughout the territory developing relationships and seeking opportunities.
The role will be varied and interesting, whilst concentrating on sales of engines and associated equipment you will also promote all products from our range of services including engine repair and testing facility and spare parts sales. There will be the inevitable administration duties, you must comply to company procedures, be a good communicator and computer literate. Have a desire to deliver excellent customer service at all times and be able to work alone arranging your own visit diary and follow ups.  
A clean valid full driving licence is essential.
