Our clients are specialists in bespoke marine fabricated products who are going through a period of growth and they are recruiting for an experienced design engineer to join a small team.

Responsibilities


  •     Experience of designing products from scratch
  •     Liaise with production to insure products that are designed to be manufactured within lead times and with regard to sales value
  •     Be able to liaise with customers and take customer requirements as well as measuring up on site
  •     Be able to interpret customer requests and information, ultimately produce a set of drawings to manufacture the product.
  •     Have an understanding of marine fuel and water tanks, design and build
  •     Be able to design a product to be in budget and on time
  •     To be able to work as part of a team, bring in projects on time and well managed
  •     To be able to manage time and to have a good balance of input versus output to get the job out.
  •     Have an oversight and assistance on the shop floor with product assemblies
  •     Capable of keeping records and keeping drawing files up to date and orderly


Additional responsibilities


  •     When required be able to run the Water jet cutter and any other machines from a programming point of view.
  •     Be flexible and able to lend your hand to getting the job done.


Knowledge and skills


  •     Degree or Equivalent trained in design and capable of using 3D Solidworks and 2D
  •     Knowledge of the marine Industry and equipment and materials
  •     Highly educated in Maths for calculations to class/stress.
  •     FEA back ground an advantage
  •     Literate and able to use Word, Excel and general Microsoft Office packages


Salary

£25,000 - £30,000

  •     Office environment with access to shop floor
  •     Extra hours to be done as required on a flexible approach
  •     Working hours 8.30 to 5.00 with ½ hour lunch, Friday 8.30 – 3.00.

Some boat knowledge would be helpful, but not essential.  The role will require the operation of our Wiggins Marina Bull forklifts along with the normal operator maintenance for this equipment.  Full training will be given to the right candidate.  We are big on customer service here so a can-do attitude and a big smile is a must!

DRYSTACK:

13.        To ensure that all complaints are dealt with immediately and details passed on to The Drystack Manager as appropriate

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Sales professional, based at our new premises at the Fareham/Gosport border to lead key sales initiatives both strategically and operationally, achieve and surpass agreed budgets, adopting a ‘hands on’ structured, rigorous and proactive sales approach, with a focus on generating new business opportunities in both established and previously untapped markets.

You will manage key internal/external sales accounts, ensuring a high class service is consistently delivered at all times, whilst also being responsible for assisting in developing, and implementing, an effective sales plan for the business, constantly monitoring sales performance and customer specific strategic and operational factors to ensure that current, reliable sales intelligence is procured upon which sound business judgements can be based.

Building and maintaining excellent relationships internally, working closely with colleagues ensuring current business performance is optimized, standards of customer service enhanced and new opportunities fully exploited.  Providing the senior level point of customer contact in relation to sales and customer support delivery and proactively ensure that all key customers are well looked after and the company is responsive to addressing their needs.

Previous experience of operating at a senior sales management level within the marine industry or similar parallel markets is essential, as is experience of successfully managing large retail/corporate accounts and a proven track record in negotiation with large accounts, +1M.

About The Role

In this fulfilling and exciting role you will be required to be responsible for and undertake the following duties:

General

  •         All yacht preparation on turnaround days including deck cleaning
  •         Briefing clients on safety and yacht systems
  •         Sharing knowledge of local area in briefings
  •         Advising on sailing questions


Flotilla

  •         Safety of all clients throughout the week
  •         Presentation and maintenance of yachts
  •         Full first day briefing to entire flotilla and daily briefings to clients on route
  •         Including weather information
  •         Safe mooring of all yachts each day


Bareboat

  •         Skippering charters of up to 9 clients at a time
  •         Yacht deliveries
  •         Call outs and maintenance
  •         Regular checks on equipment and specifically safety equipment

  •         RYA Offshore Yacht Master with Commercial Endorsement or Coastal Skipper

Sunsail Club Vounaki offers something for everyone both on and off the water and is the perfect family holiday escape, especially for those looking to learn something new.  We are passionate about watersports and offer a wide range of water-based activities for all guests, including dinghy sailing and qualifications, waterskiing, windsurfing and kayaking. Our Kid’s Clubs cater for all ages from 4 months to 17 year olds, and our shorebased activities include Tennis Courts, Fitness Studio and Mountain Biking.

Our season starts in April and ends in November. You will be required to work the full season.

About the Role

Our Watersports Instructors provide professional instruction to all levels whilst ensuring a safe sailing environment.  They all work as a team to offer a high level of customer service at all times.

In this fulfilling and exciting role you will be taking part in formal and informal instruction through structured dinghy and windsurf courses and weekly clinics for all ages ensuring that Guests get the most out of their courses. You will assist on weekly races and regattas. You will carry out beach duties, including rigging and de-rigging of boats and launch and recovery of boats maintaining safety of the guests and craft. Run effective safety boat cover and carry out boat maintenance as directed.

You will be working as an Instructor teaching the RYA Dinghy Sailing syllabus and informal teaching.

RYA Senior Sailing Instructor required – immediate start.

Regatta Sailing Academy Doha Qatar -  a British private Sailing School The selected candidates would join our Centre Manager and other RYA Instructors in teaching children and adults from beginner to racing standard.

Our programme includes Schools afternoon activity classes, morning private teaching – ladies groups.   Experienced children have race training on a Saturday with race coaching for adults on a Friday.  

Our fleets include Dart Catamarans, Lasers, Vago,  Picos, Funboats, Tera Dinghies, Optimists and two racing yachts.

Qatar is a fast expanding Country with a big expat community. Most things can be found in the State with big supermarkets, good hotels accommodation and restaurants.  The weather between November and March is like a warm English summer – on rare occasions temps. can go down to 7c with very occasional rainfall in winter.

Temperatures can rise to 40’s with  humidity in July and August – good sea breezes.

Positions will be offered to candidates who shows a genuine interest in the development and expansion of the Regatta Sailing Academy - two year renewable contract to include flights and excellent accommodation.

Annual Holiday - month of August to include return flights.  In addition the Academy closes Christmas, New Year and Easter Days.

All residency, sponsorship fees, etc. are covered by the Academy.

Hours of work -
 09.30 until 17.30 approx. one day
off per week with an extra day per month.

The individual needs to be fully qualified with an extensive amount of experience in the industry either from a sea going position with large companies or to have worked shore based in a role like this before. It is imperative that the successful applicant holds a European passport.

This is a shore based position where you will have to live close to the vessel, there is no staff accommodation on the ship


    Develop the PMS and implement the maintenance schedule.
    Resolving technical issues and providing advice on matters including; HVAC, Electrical & Engineering.
    Responsible for the shift rota.  24/7 maintenance coverage and day-to-day management of the team.
    Responsible to engage and supervise for 3rd party contractors / service support suppliers and supply vendors.
    Managing the technical inventory and ordering of new parts and materials as required.
    Responsible for the technical management, operation of systems and maintenance of the vessel.
    Responsible for the implementation of ISM/SMS and regulatory compliance.
    Training and mentoring junior members of the engineering team.


Experience and qualifications required.


    Previous experience on cruise liners, passenger ships, river ships research/scientific vessels or super yachts over 100m
    Chief Engineer qualified up 6.000kw with European issued COC and valid STCW documents.
    Experience with diesel electric power plants and extensive automation.
    Computer skills including Office and Excel etc and generic PMS systems.
    Operational switching experience with high voltage systems (11kV) considered necessary.
    References will be required.


Salary

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Marine Lubricant Consultant to join our clients Lubricant Consultancy team.

Reporting to the Consultancy Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support for lubricants, including engine, gear, hydraulic oils and greases, to our customers (primarily the Royal Navy but also other MOD and commercial customers).

A broad knowledge of marine, industrial and automotive lubricants is essential and as a key aspect of this support will be in the Defence sector, any previous experience in this field would be beneficial.

Key responsibilities will include:

    Providing in-service support and advice to customers in the marine lubricants sector. This will include product selection and application advice, identification of acceptable alternatives and support to product rationalisation;
    Identification of appropriate test suites for samples provided by customers for quality assurance or failure investigation; interpreting the results of the testing undertaken by our lubricants laboratory and providing meaningful conclusions and authoritative recommendations for any further action;
    Maintaining an up to date knowledge of customers’ product inventories and user requirements, an awareness of the equipment, typical operating regimes and logistical considerations associated with a specific customer;
    Maintaining an awareness of current lubricant commercial practices and specifications, the lubricants market place and key organisations operating in and supplying to these markets;
    Providing advice and guidance to customers on future trends and developments within the lubricants industry - particularly with respect to lubricant technologies but also on future legislative changes, in the UK, the EU and globally, that may impact on the customers’ selection and use of lubricants.

Job Qualifications

Applicants should have a qualification in Chemistry or a related discipline and demonstrable experience in a technical support role within the lubricant sector.
The ideal candidate will also have:

    A knowledge of the formulation and testing of lubricants, ideally obtained with a major lubricant formulator;
    Experience of working with marine lubricants, preferably in the Defence sector;
    A knowledge of industrial and automotive lubricants products and specifications noting their close association with many products used in the marine market and in order to provide support to customers in other market segments;
    Confidence in written and oral communication, with good interpersonal skills and the ability to lead technical meetings and discussions;
    Ability to manage and prioritise workload;
    Experience of working with Microsoft Office Software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of the Microsoft Access database software would be advantageous.
