JOB DESCRIPTION
Who we're looking for:

A bright, friendly, active team player who enjoys working outdoors in all weathers, and also has a love and some knowledge of boats. Someone who is approachable and happy to help, but is also quick thinking and adaptable for when things don't go to plan!  Someone who takes pride in their work, and loves to get the job done.

This is a weekend role, approximately 20 hours, but we can be flexible.  We'd love to find the right person to do both Saturdays and Sundays, or, we'd be equally happy to find the right people to do one weekend day each.  This role will initially be short term (April to September), with a view to extending.

Skills we're looking for:

Some boat knowledge would be helpful, but not essential.  The role will require the operation of our Wiggins Marina Bull forklifts along with the normal operator maintenance for this equipment.  Full training will be given to the right candidate.  We are big on customer service here so a can-do attitude and a big smile is a must!

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
These are the major aspects of the job, which are fundamental to its successful performance: 

DRYSTACK:
1.        To operate the Drystack equipment and machinery to safely lift, launch, wash boats and other lifting tasks as required. Subject to training and certification as required.
2.        To be fully conversant with the operation and maintenance of all Drystack equipment as laid out in the relevant manuals.

3.        To make regular inspections of the Drystack area, including the toilet facilities, report any defects, assist with the arrangements of repairs and maintain supplies as required.

OTHER:
4.        To ensure the safety and security of all vessels within The Drystack.

5.        To measure each new vessel accurately.

6.        To maintain cleanliness within the Drystack area at all times.

7.        To repair, paint and generally maintain the Drystack equipment to the required specified standard.

8.        To repair, paint and generally maintain Trafalgar Wharf.

9.        To be fully conversant with all fire/emergency procedures.

10.        To be fully conversant with the operation of the dock gates and to carry out its routine maintenance.

11.        To be aware of the weather and flood warnings and take all necessary precautions/actions e.g. checking cradles/berths.

12.        To advise the management of any areas within your scope of responsibility that are giving you cause for concern.

13.        To ensure that all complaints are dealt with immediately and details passed on to The Drystack Manager as appropriate

14.        To comply with this Company's Health and Safety policy and that of the Health and Safety Executive.

15.        To assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Company's Health and Safety Policy and ensure that all contractors, tenants and visitors adhere to it.

16.        Any other duties required by the Management.
