Europe/Africa/Mid East Sales Manager Position for Luhrs, Mainship and Silverton Corporations, part of the Luhrs Marine Group.

Previous experience required in either the retail or manufacturing sector of the marine or marine related industry. Must be able to work with minimum supervision and take personal responsibility for the sales growth of our European network.

Must be willing to travel extensively and work weekends (boat shows) as required. Includes sales support of our existing network of distributors in Europe, Africa and the Mid East, plus adding new distributors where needed. Occasional travel to our US factories required.

Good computer skills are required.

ENGINEER - YACHT CHARTER FLEET

Top Yacht runs a high quality fleet of privately owned bareboat charter sailing yachts from 2 bases in Turkey (Gocek and Keci Buku). Post is shorebased, working as part of a small team. Engineer is responsible for ensuring yacht engines, equipment and systems are serviced correctly, and carrying out repairs when problems occur during charters. Must be capable of independent problem-solving, liaising with clients and yacht owners, and willing to work long or irregular hours when necessary. Technical qualifications (eg HND or equivalent in mechanical engineering) and relevant practical work experience (eg diesel engine maintenance) are essential. Knowledge of yachts and sailing, ability to handle boats and full Driving Licence also essential. Previous experience of yacht charter industry and of working overseas are desirable.

As Distributor and Retail Support you will have a unique opportunity to develop your natural talent and experience as a key member of the Spinlock Marketing and Sales Team. You will be working closely with each national distributor to build retailer and end user demand for the expanding Spinlock range. The successful candidate is likely to be an active sailor, possibly employed in the sales and marketing of sailing hardware or clothing at a retail level. Duties include ensuring stockists are promoting Spinlock using the current tools available and providing the best store location and training staff to develop the knowledge and skills of both distributors and stockists.The candidate will also monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information.

Overseas travel and attendance at selected boat shows is an interesting and important part of the job. Imaginative use of office and communications software to support the role is essential, and a second European language an advantage. SALARY

SALARY
The position has a starting salary range of £21,000 -£25,000 gross per annum, depending on experience and if planning to commute. Normal working hours 8.30am - 5.30pm with 1 hour lunch (40 hours per week).

ANNUAL LEAVE

DINGHY/WINDSURF INSTRUCTORS - CHINA

Job Title:        Watersports Instructor

Main purpose of job

To enable children and adults to learn how to sail/windsurf/kayak/canoe/raft build in a safe but fun manner.

Main responsibilities

1.    Running water-sports courses for children and adults, whether on land or water.  Assessing the skills in respect of awarding qualifications or determining equivalence.
2.    Running and supervising alternative activities whether or not sailing related, in the case of inclement weather or otherwise.
3.    Assisting on the beach and in the dinghy park with the rigging, launching, recovering, de-rigging and wash down of the boats, equipment and centre.  Laying & retrieving of marks and organizing races.
4.    Carry out boat, equipment and centre maintenance, in order that the equipment and environment is maintained in good order.  Keeping a record of damage to boats, equipment and the centre.
5.    Greeting visitors, whether in person, by email or by phone, attending to their questions, showing them around the sailing centre, generally being hospitable and encouraging people to learn to sail.  As required, interfacing with the local community to promote sailing.
6.    Carry out safety duties, including but not limited to operating a safety boat or watch tower.  Supervision of children, when unaccompanied children are present in the centre. 
7.    Watching out for potential hazards and risk in and around the sailing centre and either, in the case of an apparent danger, taking action immediately to address the problem or reporting the potential problem.
8.    Attending to sailing-related administration in a timely fashion, including but not limited to qualification records and certificates.
9.    Any other duties as directed by the Chief Instructor.

DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

The post holder will be responsible for representing both the RYA and BMF through The Green Blue project to a range of external and internal audiences. They will be expected to develop partnerships which forward the aims of the project and to use their knowledge of environmental and boating issues to persuade organisations and individuals to support the aims of the programme.

They will be responsible for originating project materials, organising events and working in partnership with interested organisations to deliver demonstration projects. The Development Officer will also be responsible for keeping the website up to date and producing regular e-newsletters.

The post holder will have a key involvement in influencing the target audiences through the use of volunteers and regular interaction with industry, clubs and teaching establishments and their members including awareness raising in the form of presentations.

The role will require remote management of volunteers (approximately 20 across th UK).

Job Specification:

The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the design team in producing detailed joinery parts and assemblies for CNC production.  You will become part of an established design team working on a range of existing and new craft.

Candidates will have experience within the boatbuilding industry.  CATIA experience is preferred however a Solidworks background would be considered.

Qualifications:

Candidates should be degree qualified or have at least 5 years relevant experience.
Proven experience in a similar role is ESSENTIAL.

CORPORATE SAILING SKIPPER

Clipper Events, a division of Clipper Ventures PLC, is a world leader in corporate sailing and management training/development. Using the current Clipper 68' RTW Racing Yachts and the Clipper 60 fleet we deliver high quality corporate sailing, racing and management training events and are the only company that can provide a matched fleet of racing yachts of this size and pedigree.

We are currently looking to recruit a number of qualified, experienced and high quality sailing staff (skippers and mates) for the forthcoming summer season. The applicants must be capable of delivering excellent customer services, show a high level of seamanship and will work alongside the Clipper Events staff to ensure the delivery of first rate corporate sailing events.

Successful applicants will have the unique experience and benefit of working with Clipper Round The World (RTW) and Clipper Event management staff and the experience gained during the season will compliment any CV for consideration for future positions within Clipper Ventures PLC as a RTW Race Skipper or within other companies.

Generic Role of Post:

The function of this post is to support the lead corporate skipper by being the skipper on one of the Clipper 68 or Clipper 60 yachts to deliver high quality corporate sailing events.

Equally as important is the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the yachts for which the Corporate Sailing Skipper will have direct responsibility for their individual yacht. Maintaining the yachts in a high state of repair and readiness is essential in delivering high quality corporate sailing events.

The successful applicants will be designated to an individual yacht for which they will be responsible for and which they must ensure is maintained to a high standard, meets the relevant legal requirements and is kept in high state of readiness and cleanliness.

In addition, the successful applicants may be required to assist with the training of future RTW race crew during intensive 8 day training courses run from the Gosport HQ or be involved in any other Clipper sailing activities including RORC offshore racing.

1. To deliver high quality corporate sailing events to clients of Clipper Ventures.

2. To be responsible for the maintenance, cleaning, upkeep and inventory of the specific yachts to which he/she is assigned to ensure 100% availability. 3. To assist with the maintenance, cleaning, upkeep and inventory of other company yachts as required.

5. To be responsible for meeting quality and customer care targets and standards and delivering the corporate programme as set by the lead corporate skipper.
6. Attending programme team meetings and other functions as requested.
7. Actively market and promote the work of Clipper Ventures.
8. Assist with the delivery of the yachts back to the Gosport base at the conclusion of the Clipper 07-08 RTW race (note this may be via Cork week) 9. Take part in events such as Cork Week, Cowes week and the RORC Madeira Race
10. Undertake any other reasonable duties from time to time as requested by the company.
11. Assist/Responsible for the training of future RTW race crew during Clipper training courses.

Any Special Conditions Attaching to the Post:

Must be willing to be flexible in working hours and have the ability to travel as and when required and undertake ocean passages/races if required.

This role will/may require the applicant to work during events such as Cowes Week, Cork week, the RORC Madeira race, Clipper Training weeks and many other events which are not based at the company's normal place of operations in Gosport. The successful applicant will be required to stay (i.e. overnight) with the boat to which they are allocated during these events and when not operating from the Gosport base. Accommodation will be onboard the vessel. Many of the corporate sailing events have evening functions that the applicant may/will be required to attend.

The successful applicants will be required to work (on average during the season) 6 days per week. On occasions the successful applicants will be required to work for many more than 6 consecutive days. The applicant will be able to have days off in lieu to maintain the average.

Reporting to the Publications Manager, the Commercial Manager will manage and develop the commercial aspects of RYA publications by negotiating distribution deals, promoting sales and developing new income streams. Supported by the Publications Administrator, they will set up and maintain a Sales Reporting System, manage the accounts and maximise profitable sales.

The successful candidate will also assist the Training Manager to increase student participation on RYA training courses, leading to increased sales of related publications.

COMMERCIAL CRAFT HANDLER

Our client is One of the longest established, independent UK marine insurance brokers is recruiting for a Commercial Craft Handler to provide a quality and informed service to clients covering all aspects of their commercial craft insurance arrangements providing timely and accurate completion of all aspects of general administration within the companies Yacht division to ensure the department meets its overall income objectives.

Main Job Roles:

Take instructions relating to the provision of insurance cover, from clients, Directors/Managers, Account Executives and Agents.

Maintain our commercial craft binding authorities with Insurers ensuring any changes and amendments are communicated to colleagues, Managers and Directors in accordance with current company procedures and authorities agreed and documented on binding agreements.

Prepare renewal files for underwriting adhering to contract certainty timelines, including but not limited to, file selection, file review & renewal checklist preparation as may be necessary.

Prepare underwriting requests, present to Insurers and negotiate to obtain the most appropriate terms for our clients in accordance with contract certainty timescales.

Process underwritten renewal files by providing timely provision of terms to clients utilising all types of communication methods including but not limited to, preparation of renewal documentation, invoicing of premiums, timely posting of documentation and appropriate diary activities.

Manage commercial yacht tasks associated with banking sheet reconciliation.

Visit clients, introducers and prospects as necessary to review and service their insurance needs.

Process all aspects of accounting entries, including payments, invoicing, cancellations and mid term adjustments in accordance with current company procedures as may be required.

Attend boat shows, trade fairs, Insurers offices and off-site training courses as may be required to carry out your role in accordance with current company procedures.

Deliver the highest standards of “customer service” when dealing with both clients and Insurers.

Generally to manage all aspects of the day to day client renewal and new business insurance process for commercial craft.

Handle all aspects of on-going renewal client queries, ensuring all communication is documented, liaising with colleagues as necessary to complete activities as required.

Check all policy documents (including endorsements) for accuracy prior to release to clients.

Maintain our client computer software system including diary system as necessary to complete the department’s sales objectives.

Obtain and present quotations for new business to clients utilising all types of communication in accordance with current company procedures.

Liaison with colleagues, Insurers and or suppliers as may be necessary to rectify a client query.

Manage all files in accordance with current company procedures.

Ensure that diary checks are maintained and diary activities are completed on time in accordance with current company procedures.

Make written records of all conversations with customers and/or insurers, or other relevant business contacts, in accordance with current company procedures.

Ensure that company procedures and systems are followed at all times and reviewed.

Assist with the induction of new clerical staff providing communication and training on the job role and objective as may be required.

Carry out any administrative task as requested by a Manager or Director in accordance with current company procedures in order to carry out the business of Our Client.
