A longstanding customer of Marine Resources seek a Service Director/Head of Service to run their growing aftersales department.
As agents for a number of well known production vessel brands as well as two superyacht names, this brand pride themselves on offering top quality to their customer base at all times. With a wide range of new and used vessels on sale at any one time, plus returning custom, the service department is constantly busy. This role will be to oversee the various service and comissioning departments across Asia, and co-ordinate them in such a way as to remain profitable and economical.
You will ideally have come from a background with one of the well known UK or European production brands, and have experience running the aftersales side of a business successfully. Excellent knowledge both from a management point of view as well as hands-on will be imperative at all times, plus an ability to work with clients in a clear and concise manner.
Relocation to a busy Asian capital will be essential for this role, and assistance will be supplied both for accomodation and Visa, as well as relocation to the area.

Rutland SC is one of the largest inland sailing clubs in the UK with over 1500 members and a full racing and training programme for the full range of boats from Optimists to 27ft Keelboats plus an extensive open meeting and external training programme. We are one of only five RYA National Sailing Academies and the only one inland. We are recognised as an RYA Training Centre, High Performance Club, Champion Club and OnBoard Club.
The successful applicant for the General Manager post should: 
  • Have strong management, administration, communication, interpersonal and organisational skills together with strong IT and report writing skills 
  • Be able to lead, develop, and sustain effective working relationships with people at all levels both within and outside the club 
  • Be commercially aware with sufficient attention to detail to manage finance processes and reporting and IT systems.

This permanent, full-time position will be demanding and requires a reliable, hands-on and self-motivated leader.  He/she must be flexible, and availability for weekend working is essential throughout the year, on typically 30 or so weekends on a planned basis with other staff, and occasionally evenings if required. Personal sailing knowledge is useful but hands-on general management experience is essential.

Able to skipper all vessels for trips, deliveries and courses.

•      RYA Yachtmaster (Power) Commercially Endorsed or
•      MCA Boat Masters Licence Tier 2, level 2 (as a minimum – preference may be given to applicants possessing Officer of the Watch qualifications) with high speed endorsement, passenger endorsement and radar endorsement
•      Full STCW 95 Basic Safety Training
•      ENG-1 MCA approved medical (current or no reason to obtain)
•      VHF DSC radio certificate or higher

·         Be experienced within a customer-orientated environment
·         Have excellent communication skills and a friendly manner
·         Have a cool head to be able to deal with any emergency situations

Duties:        
1. To assist in providing support for Club sailing, training and racing events.
2. As rostered by the Sailing Manager, to maintain Club owned boats in clean refueled and good working order throughout the year, through scheduled winter maintenance and ongoing repairs during the sailing season.  May include arranging for work to be contracted out.
3. Providing a race day service, to include ensuring all Club owned boats are launched, clean and ready for use; sometimes driving Committee Boats on race days and providing guidance and assistance to Race Officers.
4. To manage the provision of a moorings taxi service to Members participating in organised sailing events and to the fullest practical extent for Members cruising; to recover Club tenders from moorings as appropriate; to be alert to boats returning from racing and anticipate ferrying requirements; respond to calls from Members for assistance in the Reach.
5. To provide powerboat training to members (after training) to improve the standard of support provided during club activities.
6. To ensure that daily/weekly/monthly maintenance check sheets are completed and signed off as appropriate. 
7. Keeping the yard, forecourt, staging, pontoons and waterfront area clean and tidy, including ensuring hoses are coiled tidily.
8. Ensure that the Club is dressed as directed by the General Manager and fly other flags as required by Race Officers.
9. Maintenance and cleaning of the Clubs swimming pool after training.
10. To carry out minor maintenance tasks around the Club, as requested by the General Manager or Sailing Manager.
11. Acting as one of the Clubs first aiders (after training) when necessary.
12. Such other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.
13. The working week is normally Wednesday to Sunday during the sailing season (end March to early Nov) and Monday to Friday during the winter. When necessary there are flexible/irregular hours for which time off in lieu is given. Leave will not normally be taken during July and August or during major events.  
14. Working hours normally 0730 to 1730 on race days and 0900 to 1700 on other days.
 
Location: Itchenor, Chichester Harbour
Salary of £16,500 – £18,500 per annum depending on the experience of the candidate.

Based at their central waterside manufacturing facility, you will be working to fit out pre-fabricated interior woodwork to all areas of the vessels from galley to Stateroom, as well as create basic customised parts to ensure that fit and finish are of the highest standards. You will be working on a wide range of vessels of increasing value, and so eye for detail, clean and well presented work is of the utmost importance. You will however also be required to be neat and tidy in your day to day work.
Whilst the role is marine related, you don't necessarily need to come from a marine background. Those working within high end hotels or luxury shop fitout will also be considered for the position. As part of the recruitment process you will be expected to undergo a basic skills test at the manufacturing facility under the supervision of one of the line management team.

As a medium volume builder, the brand work at a high pace, producing high quality vessels to a strong standard, but to strict timescales and budgets. 
You will ideally come from a background with a volume producer in one of the British/French/Bavarian yards and be able to maintain a high level of productivity from your team at all times, operating with meticulous attention to detail. A technical and hands on understanding is a must, as is people management. 
You will act as a point of contact between design, production and finance, being able to provide clear updates on various critical points of the project, providing valuable input, and implimenting new ideas and suggestions in order to improve results. 
This role is based in mainland Turkey, and so as such will require relocation. There will be a level of assistance required in this instance.

You will be a Project Manager with experience working in a number of the large European yards in either Holland or Germany for a minimum of ten years, and be able to speak your native language as well as fluent English and Italian (if not mother tongue already). 
Overseeing the entire project you will be well versed in budgeting, time-planning, man management and the control of external contractors. You will be working with an established data entry system to ensure that clear and obvious goals and targets are hit and be able to be accountable to senior managers at all stages of the build project. 
To be considered for this position you will need to be able to prove:
– 10+ years work in a superyacht or semi-custom environment as a Project Manager in a SHORE-BASED position. 
– Able to account for a minimum of 5 years as a SSHO

Technical Superintendent – Tug Boats
 
This opportunity is with on of the longest serving Tug boat companies based in London. It is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to enter the company at management level and know that the position is stable and secure for the foreseeable future.
 
The position is an excellent opportunity for any senior engineer to move in to management. The position is 60% yard/office based and 40% vessel based. The position is very flexible for working hours and normally only needs the Superintendent to work Monday – Friday. 
 
My client is currently looking for a Technical Superintendent who has experience with Tug Boats and various other towage vessels. The right engineer would at least be qualified to 2nd engineer or above and have extensive sea going experience. Team leader or management experience would be useful for this position as well. 
 
SALARY
£43000 basic, + £72000 +  bonus and benefits
