Our client is an industry leader in luxury marinas and marina management. They have a part time opportunity for a Company Representative based on the Cote D’Azur.

Job responsibilities:

1.    Establish and maintain a relationship with all super yacht Captains;
2.    Be able to take and secure a berth rental booking should an opportunity arise;
3.    Be able to put the Marina General Manager in contact with the yacht Captains.

You will be responsible for promoting and marketing the Marina to Superyacht Captains and Management companies along the French Riviera.

The 8th edition of the Clipper Round The World Yacht Race will be starting in August 2011. The Clipper race is the only event of its type and offers ordinary people the chance to race a yacht around the world. The Race Support Manager/Race Secretary will play a key role in the organisation of the race and the management of the race whilst it is underway.

The total number of crew that takes part in each race is well over 450 and Clipper Ventures is recruiting a suitably qualified, experienced and motivated person to undertake the role of Race Support Manager/Race Secretary to look after the crew whilst in race stopovers and play a key part in the race organising team.

The Clipper Race runs on a two year cycle. This means that each year there is a race start or a race finish. During the race, which lasts approximately 12 months, the yachts stop at as many as 16 or 17 locations around the world. When the race is running, the Race Team travels to the various stopovers around the world, arriving a few days before the yachts to prepare for their arrival and leaving a few days after the yachts to finish any outstanding tasks.

During the intervening year when the race is not running, the Race Team are preparing for the next race including re-fitting the yachts, training crew, seeking supplier and city sponsors and selecting skippers.

The Race Support Manager/Race Secretary reports directly to the Assistant Race Director (and in turn the Race Director) and is responsible for the preparation, planning and the day to day running of the sailing and on the water aspects of the Clipper Round The World Yacht Race.

Experience in team leading and managing projects in a marine environment with the   ability to manage and motivate individuals is essential, together with relevant hand-on experience using boat building materials for marine applications. We are currently seeking a fully qualified Skipper with substantial and demonstrable experience of classic sail training vessels to work onboard the Greater Manchester Challenge, a 76ft gaff-rigged ketch owned and operated by the College. We offer young people sailing experiences as an enrichment activity with the aim of achieving higher levels of respect, self motivation, independence, self esteem and confidence in order to improve their prospects.

Preferably available from October 2010 to oversee the winter refit, the successful candidate will be skipper for the 2011 season. Operating in the Irish Sea and Scottish waters the vessel is designed to cater for 12 young people on weekly sail training voyages from April to Sept inclusive.

The ideal candidate will be committed to assisting and developing young people and experience of working with young people in this capacity would be an advantage. First class communication skills and experience in managing and supporting volunteer sailing staff are essential for this role. JOB DESCRIPTION

Marine Resources are currently at an exciting stage of expansion into a number of new marine based sectors.  We are on the look out for new recruitment consultants who want to join a busy forward thinking and fun small business with ambitious growth plans

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

-    Use sales techniques, business development, marketing techniques and networking in order to attract business from client companies;
-    Build relationships with clients
-    Develop good understanding of client companies, their industries and their products
-    Bring in regular and consistent client job vacancies and ensure you have a good understanding of the requirements by obtaining the correct information in order to source relevant candidates
-    Source candidates via all possible methods, including but not restricted to, advertising searching of our database and headhunting.
-    Identify ‘Hot Candidates’ and canvass them to relevant clients and companies.
-    Ensure all candidates attending interviews are fully briefed and prepared to the best possible level.
-    Advise candidates and clients throughout the recruitment process where necessary on salaries, contract negotiations and final starting arrangements
-    Ensure all financial and non-financial targets are met on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
-    Review internal policies, processes and techniques to ensure continuous efficiency.
-    Keep up regular contact with all clients, candidates and contacts
-    Sell ‘Staff Direct’ credits when required

Experience and skills required:

 - At least 2 years experience within the recruitment industry or within similar sales based roles.
 - Excellent telesales skills are essential for this role
 - A broad knowledge of the marine industry across a number of marine sectors.  (Specific preference would be to candidates with commercial marine or offshore renewable energy experience, but this is not essential.)
 - Use of database systems, ideally recruitment database software
 - Experience working to sales targets is essential.
 - Experience of working within a small business will be of huge benefit

SALARY
