RELIEF CAPTAIN FOR CARGO BARGE - £30,000 - £35,000PA - EAST, UK

We are seeking a motivated individual to fulfil the role of 1st mate and relief captain. 
You will be in charge of the day to day operation of the vessel, including maintenance and upkeep of the deck equipment and the aesthetics of the ship.

Bobcat operator preferred but not essential.
A River Thames Local Knowledge endorsement is essential.

Using your marine experience you will take the lead role in providing project management and support to allocated custom/super yacht and mega yacht projects. Taking technical ownership of all of your allocated projects you will co-ordinate activities and provide liaison to enable the projects to be delivered to deadline.

This role requires a candidate whose technical aptitude will enable them to competently communicate the technical features of our blinds, whilst also supporting a Sales Manager to win contracts. The successful applicant will also need good organisation skills to then coordinate their jobs through the factory, working closely with Oceanair's Technical and Production teams.
Direct customer communication will be required and regular trips (some overseas) to projects will be required to help with the project management.  Supporting Oceanair's sales activity at boat shows may also be required.

During the winter of 2009 and spring of 2010 ten very successful Activate your Laser Fleet workshops have been run across England, attracting ninety one key volunteers.
Depending on availability and skills, the successful applicant will be a coach who will be responsible for promotion, delivery and the follow up of further Activate your Laser Workshops across England. You will also attend the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show and other events as decided by a project partner's steering committee.

The ideal candidate will have proven competence as a qualified coach/ instructor but also have experience of development within a club environment and be able to inspire sailors and volunteer coaches alike. ELECTRICAL ENGINEER - £30,000 pa – LONDON, UK

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

MARKETING MANAGER - approx £26,000pa - SOUTH, UK

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is a market world leader in the manufacture and distribution of interior products for yachts and superyachts.  They are recruiting for a Marketing Manager to join their busy team to help promote their well known brand.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

•    Support the creation of, and coordinate the delivery of the marketing plan for our clients marine business
•    Work within the agreed budget to deliver the plan.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing Plan & Budget

Working with the Sales & Marketing Director, the role requires an annual plan & budget to be prepared and delivered.

Sub Contractors

Many of our clients marketing activities are fulfilled by sub contractors e.g. graphic design, printing, PR etc… The role requires detailed management and coordination of these sub contractors. 

Boatshow

Our client attend approx 25 x boatshows per year, (4 directly, 21 via distributors). The role requires developing an annual ‘message’ and display style, producing any new display equipment and managing the logistics of the Shows. Logistic details below:

Boatshow Logistics
The role will require taking complete ownership of the Boatshow logistics, including:
-    Coordinating the 2 x boatshow stands to meet our client and their Distributor’s Show requirements.
-    Coordinate the stand maintenance, ordering product samples and marketing materials where applicable.
-    Planning all logistics stand space, services, hotels, flights etc..
-    Communicating Show plans to the Sales team.
-    Obtaining Grants, where applicable.
-    Organising shipping of Boat Show Stand.
-    Provide boat show support for distributors

PR

The role will require the preparation of PR writing, meeting the PR plan deadlines. These include press releases and customer news letters. The role will require the management of the M1 database of contacts and the automated sending of the PRs.

Literature

The management of all literature (e.g. catalogues, brochures, business cards, adverts etc..), their preparation, printing, distribution and stock levels.

Website

Working with our web design company, delivering the web strategy. Maintaining the ‘back office’ of the website to reflect a fresh and modern site.

Distributor Conference

Plan and manage the logistics of the annual Distributor Conference, working closely with the sales team.

General

Undertake other tasks as may be required from time to time by the Directors.

They are currently recruiting for a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer with experience of Hydraulic and Electrical control systems to work in a project based role.

The role includes making hydraulic calculations as well as laying out drawings for hydraulic and electrical control systems in line with client’s requirements, then come up with build specs.  These products will them be manufactured and fitted to superyachts around the globe.

Ideal Candidates will hold a recognised mechanical engineering qualification and will be computer literate with a solid understanding of AUTO CAD packages, ideally ‘INVENTOR’ but this is not essential.

Harwich Haven Authority is the Harbour Authority serving the Haven Gateway ports of Felixstowe, Harwich International Port, Ipswich, Harwich Navyard and Mistley.

Due to a planned retirement, we are seeking to recruit a Launch Services Supervisor. Reporting to the Deputy Harbour Master (Conservancy), this key role in the delivery of our pilotage service has responsibility for ensuring the effective operation of our fleet of pilot launches which includes the supervision of launch crews and the combined planning and execution of vessel maintenance.

We are seeking an individual who can demonstrate strong leadership and man management abilities with previous supervisory experience in the maritime sector. Additionally, he/she will hold the equivalent of an RYA Coastal Skipper's Certificate, or higher, and have a working knowledge of MCA certification requirements for workboats. He/she must also be prepared to adopt a 'hands on' approach when required.

Although primarily day work, Monday to Friday there is a requirement to be on - call outside of normal working hours. In return we offer an excellent remuneration and benefits package that includes relocation, pension and private health insurance.

VESSEL SUPERINTENDENT - £40,000 - £45,000pa – EAST, UK

The Marine Department, which is responsible for the maintenance, care and overall operations of our client’s fleet of survey vessels, has opportunities for persons who are established within this or a similar role.

The position is based at our client’s head office on the East coast, but you will be required to visit vessels as part of your managerial role on a worldwide scale, to promote communication and inter-department as well as inter-company relations relating to the effective running of the vessels. This will involve travel and some working away, coordinating projects.

We would welcome applicants with recent experience within the marine industry, either in a seagoing role or shore-based position where they are or were involved with ships’ maintenance, repair and dry-docking. We would certainly consider those who have gained experience working in shipyards within manufacture or repair, and previous experience of overseeing vessel conversions and refits. Any supervisory, management and project planning experience within any of the above areas would be an advantage.

The ideal candidate will possess a Chief Engineers Certificate of Competency or equivalent qualification and be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of vessel operational requirements including, but not limited to, ISM, Classification Society Regulations and Flag State requirements, SOLAS and MARPOL. 

You will have a proven track record demonstrating commercial awareness and judgement in ship management in an international arena. We are looking for a dynamic individual with team spirit and a determination to get the job done. Confidence and the ability to communicate appropriately to the many different persons and work with those involved on our projects are also key attributes to bring to this role.
