The right candidate will have a HNC/HND/Degree in Electrical or Marine Engineering and have experience working with 440-230-115 and 24V electrical systems.

You must be able to produce electrical distribution schematics with technical specs and have knowledge of LR Rules and Regulations for the classification of ships.

Experience of dealing with equipment suppliers and manufacturers is a bonus.

The allocated territories are under developed from an Oceanair sales perspective, hence, a key objective will be new business development in new Countries and developing OEM and increased Distributor business in existing markets.

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Account Management (OEMs & Super Yacht)
  • Take 'sales ownership' of all allocated Accounts & Projects, coordinating all aspects of the selling process. 
  • Conduct regular visits and maintain a high level of contact with all key Accounts & Projects.
  • Work with Sales Director to develop a sales strategy for each account.
  • Present quarterly forecast updates for each Account & Project, including sales forecast, opportunities and risks/challenges.
  • Work closely with your Account & Project support team to maintain the highest service level.
  • Assess all business opportunities and promote the Oceanair solutions to maximise sales growth.

Distributor


  • Manage the Distribution network in the allocated territories in line with the Distribution Management method to maximize the sector coverage and mindshare of the Distributor.
  • Conduct regular visits (and join yard trips), carrying out sales training of the distributor staff.
  • Continually assess the performance of allocated Distributors and, if required, coordinate the change to an improved routes-to-market following a thorough strategic review.
  • Develop the best relevant route-to-market in new territories.
  • Working with OA's Marketing Coordinator, maximise the marketing effort of the distributor.
  • General
  • Develop a macro priority list for all strategic aims.

As an individual with will be monitored on targets which will be set by the company, that will monitor budget costs, management of sub contractors and resources being used.

The candidate

To be a successful applicant with this role you must have experience in the following areas, managing multiple large scale projects, experience in ship repair and a degree or equivalent in the marine engineering industry.

As well as being able to manage many large scale projects at once you need to have experience of managing a project from tender to completion, understanding HR and operations, firsthand experience of being the only project manager managing projects from start to finish, building and maintaining relationships that are already formed with customers, as well as meeting/exceeding their expectations.

Position requires wide experience of marine electronics and electrics for yachts, with emphasis on sound installation practice and troubleshooting.

We supply and install Raymarine, Simrad, Furuno, ICOM, KVH, Seatel, Mastervolt and Victron amongst others. Versatility is required for varied equipment such as engine controls, generator systems, yacht power systems, alarms and TV/audio distribution systems.

Training will be available as necessary.

We are based in new premises at Nanny Cay Marine Centre near Road Town
A vehicle is supplied for business and personal use. There is an optional BUPA company scheme available.

The job is seasonal, with busy winters and a low season July - September, and annual leave should be taken during these months.

Probation period is 4 months, and the initial contract will be for one year, extendable annually.
Salary is $35,000 - $45,000 negotiable according to experience.

Job would ideally suit single technician with interest in  watersports.
