CHIEF INSTRUCTOR (SAIL OR SAIL & POWER) - £22,000 - £25,000 pa

JOB DESCRIPTION

You will be responsible for delivering RYA practical and shore based courses, workshops, bespoke training, corporate and social events, and will be directly involved with the marketing of both the school and our integrated business. Courses are carried out both on our Beneteau 37 foot training yacht but also across the Beneteau range of our Yachts varying from 32 -43 feet.

We are seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic, energetic and personable YMI, ideally with a marketing background, with excellent communication skills and who will see this opportunity as a long term career move. This is a full time, full commitment opportunity, for someone that wants to be involved at the core of the business. The right person will in due course be offered a Directorship in the company.

You will be expected to build personal professional relationships with our Members, many of whom want to progress their yachting skills from novices to yachtmasters. Much of this training is on a one to one basis. Needless to say you need to be an excellent instructor whose enthusiasm is infectious.

There is a strong overlap between marketing for our training business and for members for our Programme and therefore you will be involved in both. You will be expected to attend our trade shows and Boat Shows and undertake additional marketing activities as well as being responsible for all training on our boats.

Our fleet of yachts are maintained to a very high standard and as Chief Instructor you will also have an overview of the maintenance manager to ensure that the boats are fully coded at all times and suitable for purpose.

You will be expected to travel freely between our office in Lymington and our Solent boat locations, currently Hamble and Lymington.

This varied position involves being part of a small team of staff responsible for the round the clock operation of the marina. You will work a 12 hour shift, rotating between day and night shifts. Weekend and bank holiday working (on a rota) is required

You will be responsible for directly managing the Aftersales aspects.
As a proactive member of the management team you will be an experienced and enthusiastic manager able to control the Aftersales function for a number of new build and/or refit projects simultaneously with appropriate support, and for developing and growing the ANT Superyacht business footprint.  You will be required to run an efficient operation, ensuring customer satisfaction at all times, motivating and training all staff to perform, whilst developing and improving processes and systems as well as driving the business forward. 
Projects will encompass AV, IT, communications, navigation and security solutions. They will involve intricate planning and diplomacy and require the management of a complexity of specifications, supervision of up to 10  technicians and sub-contractors under time and financial pressures and attending meetings with clients and shipyards.  Your overall objective will be to increase turnover and profits to exceed set budgets.
You should be professionally qualified with wide ranging experience and a proven track record in managing Aftersales on large and small scale, complex and intricate, mostly with leading edge technology electrical engineering based projects for demanding clients with very high standards - quality and customer satisfaction are paramount.  Accustomed to run simultaneous projects you must be self-reliant and motivated and able to plan and organise work as well as projecting the company in the quest for growth. The successful candidate will have highly developed interpersonal skills allowing them to relate professionally and sensitively to owners, captains and crew as well as contractors and shipyard personnel. Computer literacy and financial competence are required and a good working knowledge of English is essential.  Knowledge of MS Project would be an advantage.
