We work in an environment where English tends to be the spoken language, so Spanish is by no means essential. Sentinel would offer as much help and guidance as necessary to any candidate willing to relocate to Mallorca.

Oliver Alsop, the owner of the company, was born on Tortola but educated in England and returned to live on Tortola 16 years ago. He has a small team of skilled staff that handle routine maintenance for anywhere between 10 and 20 yachts at any given time.

The successful candidate will ideally have the following:

• AMEI certified, Advanced NMEA 2000 network trained and have at least 5 years experience troubleshooting both D.C and A.C electrical systems and installing new equipment on yachts. This could include rewires, installation, repair and replacement of a range of systems on board. Knowledge and industry training of the major marine electronics brands would also be essential. 
• An analytical mind who’s not afraid to turn their hand to anything – We cover both power and sail craft up to 40m of all ages.
• Excellent communication skills, be self-motivated and have very good time management skills. You will be expected to talk directly with yachts owners and captains regarding a wide range of systems.
• Able to work unsupervised and be able to discuss the details of the work being undertaken directly with the yachts owners and captains.
• Though not essential, a working knowledge of other common systems on yachts such as mechanical, hydraulic, air conditioning and refrigeration would be a great benefit.

AMM also manages a 20-slip marina. The successful applicant will be expected to help maintain shore power services on the dock. They must also be computer literate and able to write up detailed reports regarding work completed and draw up estimates for work to be carried out.

You will also need a drivers licence, a clean police record and you will have to undergo a medical exam with your GP for visa requirements. The work permit will take six to twelve weeks to be processed. 

You will be expected to work 40 hours per week

The role of Systems (Design) Engineer would suit an individual currently exposed to a similar product and environment. With previous experience working with Steel, Aluminium or Composite hull structure, you will have worked as part of a larger team on the overall design and engineering of a range of large private or commercial craft. You will have assisted in the placement, installation and engineering of all solutions relating to a wealth of on board systems to include propulsion, clean/grey water, air conditioning, heating and more. 

This position will be integral to the overall process as alongside your work to engineer on-board systems you will also need to ensure that all work complies with flag state and classification requirements, being able to effectively source relevant products whilst also advising production staff on system placement.

You will have a relevant degree in Naval Architecture, Marine or Mechanical Engineering, an analytical mind and an ability to work to tight timescales with little to no supervision. A lateral thinker, you will be a real team player, working with colleagues to ensure that the highest standards are met at all times.

Based in the Netherlands, the role is predominantly English-speaking but an interest in learning dutch or any existing experience would be ideal. Due to expansion, a well known brand within the luxury and Superyacht market is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to work with on structural engineering of hulls within their busy shipyard. Having built some of the most ambitious yachts in recent years, this fantastic shipyard is known for their quality and innovation within the marketplace. Projects and partnerships with the brand have long been at the forefront of the Superyacht industry press, showing how this brand has managed to evolve and remain competitive in an incredibly tough market. 

The role of Structural (Design) Engineer would suit an individual currently exposed to a similar product and environment. With previous experience working with Steel, Aluminium or Composite hull structure, you will have worked as part of a larger team on the overall design and engineering of a range of large private or commercial craft. 

This position will be integral to the overall process as alongside your work to engineer hulls you will also need to ensure that all work complies with flag state and classification requirements, being able to effectively source relevant products whilst also advising production staff on hull build. Furthermore you will also be involved within placement of deck gear and external componentry in collaboration with the design team. 

You will have a relevant degree in Naval Architecture, Marine or Mechanical Engineering, an analytical mind and an ability to work to tight timescales with little to no supervision. A lateral thinker, you will be a real team player, working with colleagues to ensure that the highest standards are met at all times.

Based in the Netherlands, the role is predominantly English-speaking but an interest in learning dutch or any existing experience would be ideal. Working across all departments at all levels, you'll need to be a skilled negotiator, not afraid to approach any situation with a focussed outlook that will benefit all involved. This could range from coaching a laminator through to agreeing a project end date with a department director. You'll need to be approachable, versatile, analytical and excel under pressure to ensure all KPIs are met.
