You'll be a creative individual, able to think on your feet and work to predefined timescales within a busy design team. 
Your duties will include taking sketched 2D/3D ideas through the modelling phase in Siemens NX and then back to 2D for Production drawings. Your main focus will sit around interior furniture, however from time to time you will be expected to jump on tasks for other build areas.

Your role will entail the generation of 2D/3D images of customer request, ensuring that requests can be made a reality, each request is correctly engineered and that the correct drawings and documentation are provided to the production floor in order to build the end product. Alongside this you'll need to be able to maintain the BOM documentation, ensuring each project you work on is correctly allocated throughout the process. 
You'll work across a wealth of departments to troubleshoot various design queries, ensuring that projects are feasible and cost-effective. As such a background of experience in furniture and GRP boatbuilding would be very useful when understanding and troubleshooting various projects. A degree or similar in design or mechanical engineering is required, as is some professional experience working within the boatbuilding sector. You'll use Siemens NX and Autocad extensively, so again experience in these software programs would be beneficial.

As a result, Sunseeker are seeking an individual skilled in the management and configuration of the 'Bill-of-materials'. This crucial role will act as a tie-in to a multitude of departments, including Design, Planning and Sales as it will focus around the BOM stock for customer options.
You will be interlinking the customer options requirement with the standard production schedule and in doing so work closely with Production and Procurement departments to ensure that these options do not ultimately affect stock levels of delivery that could affect the overall build process. 
You will need to be very thorough with your work, ensuring that the various systems and databases are kept maintained and up to date in line with any changes that you make. As Sunseeker are heavy users of SAP systems, an understanding of these would be beneficial, as would an understanding of boatbuilding.

This is a new sales position within a company but they are prepared to offer training to junior designers who are looking to progress in their career.
 
The company designs and manufactures sails from its southern offices, where they will liaise with the client to understand the requirements of the sail and what they are expecting it to achieve.
 
A passion for the design and sailing industry is a must for the role as well as having the technical knowledge.
 
The Candidate:
 
* The successful candidate will have a couple of years of experience in the marine industry in sales and ideally in the sail making industry.
* A technical understanding of the materials, shape and design of a sail as well as being happy discussing changes and modifications to existing designs is desirable. 
* You will be based in the office taking orders from clients, dealing with after sales care and going on board clients boats to discuss their requirements. 
 
A passion for sailing is vital. 
 
Salary
 
£18,000 – 24,000  pa + Commission
