The position will require you to have the ability to prepare and review practical procedures, checklists and instructions.
There will be the requirement for you to travel to where the superyachts or commercial vessels are based to conduct surveys and speak to the captain on a technical level
The Candidate
The successful candidate will need to have been shore based for the last 12 months working for a superyacht or commercial vessel consultancy, and having served as a high rank on either passenger ships or superyachts.
You will need to hold a Class one Certificate in Engineering as well as being able to communicate with Flag States, surveyors, captains and client representatives. You will also need to be analytical with good writing skills.
It will be required that you will have to do roughly 5 days per month traveling to the locations of the vessels, you may be asked to be on call over the weekends if the director is unable to do the job.

MDL has a unique portfolio of 19 varied marinas and boatyards in the UK. MDL is also expanding internationally with several recent international additions to its portfolio.
In recruiting for this position of Infrastructure Engineer, MDL will be seeking an individual ideally having a formal qualification in civil engineering, with proven knowledge and experience gained over several years post qualification. It is envisaged that this position will be suited to an engineer experienced in managing marine civil engineering projects, including a working knowledge of the marine licencing system, able to work with limited supervision and having a practical approach to problem solving.
The position will be based at MDL's head office located at Hamble Point Marina, Hamble, Southampton, but will also require travel to all of the Group's 19 UK based marinas.
This is a key position working within a small professional team and includes management of the annual maintenance dredging programme, along with monitoring the condition of the company's marine and associated shoreside assets, and project managing capital and maintenance work in connection with these.

The position will be based at MDL's head office located at Hamble Point Marina, Hamble, Southampton, but will also require travel to all of the Group's 19 UK based marinas.
This is a key position working within a small professional team and includes management of the annual maintenance dredging programme, along with monitoring the condition of the company's marine and associated shoreside assets, and project managing capital and maintenance work in connection with these.

A world renowned marine manufacturing business which offers a range of services to the high end private marine sector including hull construction, repair, fit-out and refit. They work heavily with composite materials, and are responsible for working on some of the most expensive and high performance vessels in the industry.
Due to having an exceptional year in 2014, they now have a very busy period to come, and require a Senior Outfitter with experience as a Senior Team Leader to join their growing team.
You will ideally come from a background working with high performance vessels or Superyachts and have an excellent knowledge of the siting, installation and testing of anything from a propulsion system through to a waste water system. You will be expected to have an excellent technical understanding of all aspects of yacht fit-out and be able to communicate this to both your fellow colleagues, and in some instances also be required to explain and communicate aspects of your work to the client.
The ideal candidate can either come from a background within fitout in the Superyacht/High-end sector, but we will also accept applicants with experience as a Superyacht Engineer who have overseen and had hands-on involvement with vessel refit.
With an exceptional eye for detail, you will be able to install, commission and test, as well as conduct sea trials where required. There will also be a requirement for the successful candidate to work with and also lead areas of the construction department at times, and full training will be provided in this instance.

Due to having an exceptional year in 2014, they now have a very busy period to come, and require a Senior Outfitter with experience as a Senior Team Leader to join their growing team.
You will ideally come from a background working with high performance vessels or Superyachts and have an excellent knowledge of the siting, installation and testing of anything from a propulsion system through to a waste water system. You will be expected to have an excellent technical understanding of all aspects of yacht fit-out and be able to communicate this to both your fellow colleagues, and in some instances also be required to explain and communicate aspects of your work to the client.
The ideal candidate can either come from a background within fitout in the Superyacht/High-end sector, but we will also accept applicants with experience as a Superyacht Engineer who have overseen and had hands-on involvement with vessel refit.
With an exceptional eye for detail, you will be able to install, commission and test, as well as conduct sea trials where required. There will also be a requirement for the successful candidate to work with and also lead areas of the construction department at times, and full training will be provided in this instance.

WEBSITE & SOCIAL
- To take responsibility for the research, design & development of all web graphics such as homepages, landing pages, blog images, banners, online promotions etc. in line with the brand image
- To take responsibility for the research, design & development of email newsletter graphics & layout in line with the brand image
- To take responsibility for the research, design & development of social media channels in line with the brand image
- To maintain image library making sure all images are labelled & stored in the correct place, and that all online imagery is correct and up-to-date
OFFLINE
- To be responsible for seasonal catalogue production. Including the design, working with the Purchasing team for direction, gathering campaign imagery & copywriter & liaising with external printer
- To liaise with external printers & oversee printed production through to completion for all printed materials
- To be responsible for seasonal Flyer artwork - Designing flyer with campaign shots & web details & liaising with external printer
- To take responsibility for the research, design & development of all magazine adverts, liaising with external publishers. Overseeing their production through to completion, and monitoring impact
- To be involved in specific Branding projects- e.g. carrier bags, design & ensuring stock
- To ensure all graphic work is brand specific & protects all brand values
- To manage all external print jobs to ensure correct quality & timescales
- To be responsible for additional studio product shots as required
- To be responsible for all photo amends-colour change etc.
- To understand critical path & prioritise workload
- To communicate with the management team on regular basis. Covering marketing impact, production issues, costs and opportunities
- Any other ad hoc duties as & when required
ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
- Mac literate and fully conversant with Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop & Acrobat
- The ideal candidate will be efficient, organised and accurate, with the ability to work to high standards and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communicator and good command of written English with copy accuracy.
- Proven design and artwork portfolio with a minimum of 2 - 3 years experience.
- Ability to take existing designs and reformat/ready for pre-press or print/digital.
- Good eye for design, creative imagination, and well organised with a strong work ethic.
- Web design experience will be an advantage, including knowledge of HTML, CSS & SEO.
- Sailing / marine background will be an advantage
