JOB DESCRIPTION
This interesting and varied job involves primarily dealing with customers to provide advice on the application and installation of Vetus boat equipment and engines. This will include visits to perform installations and warranty support "hands-on" at customer's premises. Producing written specifications, technical advice and reports on customer and competitor activities in a professional manner will also be a requirement. Providing technical training to customers and other staff members is part of the role, so the applicant should be a confident communicator with good presentation and negotiating skills.

Applicants should have a good in depth knowledge of marine diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical and electronic installations, different boat types and boat construction methods. To fulfil the key aspects of this role, you will require a degree in a technical or engineering discipline, or a minimum of 5 years relevant practical experience. Product training on Vetus systems will be given. The applicant must be able and willing to travel & be away from home overnight on a regular basis, plus occasional travel to head office in The Netherlands.

A good command of English and an excellent telephone manner are essential. You will be responsible for dealing with trade customers, end users and overseas colleagues by e-mail, letter, telephone and in person. You should be computer literate, preferably with experience of Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
