JOB DESCRIPTION
Company Description

Our client is an internationally recognized consultancy that looks after various different styles of vessels throughout the industry.
They are currently seeking an experienced engineering manager with a huge amount of experience from designing marine systems, specifically for vessels over 35m.

You will be directly reporting to the Design Office Manager and Managing Consultant as well as liaising with the clients from a project management perspective.

The Role

The role itself will involve a lot of the following but not limited to.
•    Being responsible for a small team of engineers in the office in Hampshire.
•    Providing concept and detailed designs for the majority of vessels over 35m from varied industries, as well as regular onsite visits.
•    Carry out on-site technical surveys and provide technical written reports, as well as providing technical support to other business units and the legal division.
•    Whilst you are in the office you will have to work closely with the naval architects with the development of new vessel designs, as well as developing and reviewing technical specifications
•    Knowledge of Classification Societies, Flag Administrations and IMO rules and regulations
•    Client visits are essential along with developing relationships and business development.
•    Providing support to clients with technical proposals and specifications for re-fit work, and support on-site.

The Candidate
To be successful for the role you will need to be degree educated or equivalent marine engineering back ground and ideally having a chartered engineer status.

It is essential that you are fully compliant with Outlook, word and excel, as well as having working knowledge on Microstation, AutoCAD & Rhino
You should be able to put together reports and have a technical understanding of report writing

Experience of designing marine systems and knowledge of shipboard operations.

Salary

£47,000 - £51,000
•    Group Personal pension scheme & Death in Service Scheme
•    Employee: 2% minimum up to 10% of basic salary
•    Employer: 5% of basic salary
