JOB DESCRIPTION
A well established and successful sail manufacturer on the South Coast are looking for a sail designer to join their growing team. The company is going through a period of growth and with an ever growing order book they need a designer to come in and manage the design process from conception through to completion.
The Role
This is a new position within a company who are looking for someone to start with a little training as possible.
The company designs and manufactures sails from its southern offices, where they will liaise with the client to understand the requirements of the sail and what they are expecting it to achieve.
A passion for the design and sailing industry is a must for the role as well as having the technical knowledge.
They currently use the software of ProSail with a full order book.
The role could progress with you becoming the sail loft manager
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have a couple of years of experience in the sail making industry using the software of ProSail.
The ideal candidate will have a technical understanding of the materials, shape and design of a sail as well as being happy discussing changes and modifications to existing designs.
You will be based in the sail loft majority of the time discussing what needs to be done with the machinists and sail finishers.
A passion for sailing is vital.
Salary
£20,000 - £22,000pa
