JOB DESCRIPTION
Building on the success of our widely respected sport development programmes and training schemes, the objective is to maintain and improve standards of safety, training and volunteer management at RYA clubs and training centres and to increase regular participation. The Sailing Development Officer will work with clubs and centres to develop a strong volunteer base, improve facilities and build partnerships with other clubs, centres, schools and community organisations.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that they have the ability to work on their own initiative whilst keeping others informed, and to organise their time effectively. The successful candidate will be qualified to at least RYA Senior Instructor level or equivalent, with proven people and project management ability and excellent communication skills. The post is home based, ideally you will have good road access to all parts of the region as extensive travel is involved.
The successful candidate will be contracted to the RYA for 228 days per annum until March the 31st 2013. The successful candidate will need to have their own transport, suitable work base and ideally be situated in or within easy reach of the Thames Valley region.
