Sales Manager - Offshore
Based - UK

 Windtec engineering has been developing wind energy converters (WEC) for more than 10 years with turbine designs ranging in power from 650kW up to 10MW. With a unique business model and global technological leadership AMSC Windtec have experienced incredible growth both in line with but also over and above the global wind generation industry. Indeed they were recently mentioned by President Obama in his weekly address with reference to Jobs growth and providing global solutions to climate change.
To complement and sustain this growth curve AMSC Wintec are looking to recruit a strategic Sales Manager to develop and manage strategic relationships with the Offshore wind industry as well as key northern European manufacturers with the goal of them using AMSC Windetc solutions to develop their own wind turbine manufacturing infrastructure The Role Reporting into the Business Development Director the Sales Manager (Offshore) will be responsible for the identification and realization of attractive and profitable growth opportunities within the offshore wind industry as well as developing potential licensing deals in

Key activities performed will include:

    * New Business Development - Identify and evaluate specific business opportunities. Work with product management to identify and evaluate new markets for existing products, new products through technology in-licensing and other sales and marketing partnership opportunities.
    * Sales Execution - To create and close sales in line with the targets set at regional and product levels. Update relevant information on the company CRM system with reference to client data, sales opportunities, and order status
    * Pipeline Management -Provide sales expertise information for the day-to-day management of products in the sales pipeline. These activities include opportunity assessment, market evaluation, market research, financial evaluation, and other marketing needs required throughout the product evaluation process. Define the roadmap in the long; mid and short term incorporating customer needs, input and feedback from other internal and external groups.
    * Alliance Development - Identify, build, and manage long-term relationships with strategic partners in the Manufacturing market. Initiate and complete proposals, presentations, terms and conditions, negotiations and execution for the development of licensing opportunities, research collaborations, strategic alliances, JV's, and distribution agreements
    * Marketing Strategy Development - As new products are being developed, or new Technologies/products acquired, coordinate with the development team to develop sound marketing strategies to win in the offshore wind marketplace. This will include market segmentation, value proposition development, product positioning, pricing strategy,

The Candidate

    * Deep knowledge of the Wind Industry with experience in a regional business development or strategic marketing role
    * Excellent sales skills
    * Partnership development (including negotiation) capabilities;
    * Self-motivated with ability to work in an unstructured environment (strong operational mindset, decisive, with a "get it done" and "whatever it takes" mentality)
    * Strong analytical skills (experience building, evaluating and clearly presenting complex business models is critical)
    * Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence others without formal authority
    * Excellent written and oral communications skills

In addition to the above requirements the following are desirable attributes:

    * Knowledge and experience of the  offshore wind industry
    * Ideally technology licensing experience
    * Experience building strategic marketing and selling relationships with senior level executives in wind energy companies.
    * Technical undergraduate degree (e.g. engineering, mathematics, computer science)
