JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client has a new vacancy to fill in the role of Warranty Product Support Engineer, responsible for managing the warranty requests and technical support of a group of their Distributors. This position demands a highly self-motivated, versatile person, with a rounded knowledge of all aspects of construction and repair of performance motor yachts up to 30 metres in length.

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

Warranty and technical communications with Distributors and Customers for model lengths up to 30 metres
Co-ordinating warranty repairs and also when necessary retail repairs
Ensuring compliance with company warranty procedures and practices
Active personal involvement in formal and informal quality feedback loops
Technical support to questions from distributors, owners, Captains and crew
Ensuring personal knowledge of vessels is kept detailed and up to date


Experience/Skills Required:

Technical knowledge of motor yachts up to 30 metres
Commercial acumen is required in order to assess pros and cons of warranty cases and the most effective, yet cost efficient, resolution process bearing in mind subtleties of the Manufacturer, Distributor and Customer relationships
Excellent communication skills ideally with Customers and Distributors
Diplomacy and tact in dealing with high pressure situations with Customers/Distributors
Ability to work independently with little direct guidance, but to be a highly supportive member of a team of individuals when required
Flexibility of personal working to suit needs of Customers and Distributors including foreign travel when required, although work is mainly UK based
Success with running multiple projects and organising repair work, sometimes overseas
Good all round education and qualifications in a discipline directly related to large motor yachts will be an advantage but not essential, relevant experience being equally important
Experience of working with SAP (or similar system), Word, Excel and adaptable to learning new software systems when required
