JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION SUMMARY:

Head of Construction Supervision for Vessel Class. Overall responsibility that vessels are delivered according to contract, specification and budget.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Overall responsibility for the project to be delivered on time and on budget, according to specified  standards and quality according to the contract and internal quality policy
• Develop and prepare specifications for new building projects and during the specification process leads all communication with shipyard and various internal departments. 
• Oversight of all aspects of new ship design and construction in a good collaboration with a Builder.
• Ensures vessel is in compliance with all relevant regulations from various authorities.
• Financial responsibility to assure that the ship's final price is in agreement with the contract and with approved Change Orders.
• Management of technical verification process including maker and drawing approvals.
• Management of Change Orders with the yard.
• Management of building supervision process.
• Maintaining good working relations with the yards.
• Develops the tools for credible project follow up with the yards.
• Project’s Risk assesment and management.
• Project’s Resource management.

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Experience from new build processes and site surveys
• Knowledge of shipbuilding design
• Good understanding of technical systems onboard
• Fluency in English, other European languages an advantage
• Good skills to read drawings
• Good skills for communication and co-operation in multicultural working environment
• Computer literate
• Indepth knowledge of SOLAS, IMO, classification rules and marine standards
• Based in Northern Europe with requirement of International travel

QUALIFICATIONS:

M. Sc. Naval architect with minimum 5 years of experience in the shipbuilding industry(passenger ships).

SALARY

€110,000 pa plus bonus
