COMMERCIAL MANAGER - £27,000 - £30,000pa – SOUTH EAST, UK

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Commercial Supervisor is responsible for the day to day operation of the Commercial Sales Department, ensuring timely shipping of customer orders and making certain that all departmental procedures are adhered to.  Constantly review and seek to improve procedures to deliver a high level of customer service.

Responsibilities

Take overall responsibility of all communication from customers and to ensure that it is the appropriate action is taken within a timely manner
Assign and manage all tasks and responsibilities of the individuals within the Commercial Sales team to achieve maximum efficiency
Take the lead on managing the export licensing process from start to finish ensuring exporting under the appropriate customs controls and regulations
Ensure that the Commercial Sales team members are all trained to the required standard to enable them to carry out their day to day tasks to the best of their ability
Ensure that we comply with all legal requirement s concerning the shipping of hazardous goods and international shipping and invoicing
Using initiative to propose new ideas, strategies and methods of working to maximise success in the Export team.
Liaise with freight forwarders to make sure that shipments are efficiently controlled at lowest cost to us and the customer

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Requirements

Ideally an Import/Export or commercial discipline qualification
Dangerous goods certification

Experience Requirements

Excellent export administration experience
Extensive export licencing compliance experience
Experience of managing a team, ideally Commercial/Sales Administrators
Experience of working within the Marine/Electronics/Military industry
Previous experience of working in a Manufacturing background
Knowledge of working with an ERP system, ideally BAAN
Good level of knowledge of MS Office packages

SALARY

£27,000-£30,000 depending on experience
