SENIOR DESIGN AND ENGINEERING MANAGER – SOUTH, UK

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is a leading company in the luxury and Superyacht sectors. They are currently looking for an experienced Designer to take on the role of Senior Design and Engineering Manager at their south coast offices.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of product design in agreement with the Sales Director.

Main responsibilities:

• Manage the design and design engineering team
• Liaise with the Sales Director on all new product development and manage projects to deliver on time
• Design new innovative products to an agreed cost and style
• Support the Sales team as necessary with technical assistance by drawing support or technical information
• Provide technical training to all members of staff and Distributors

Specific skills required:

• Management experience, in particular, managing people to project
• Experienced Designer, full trained with 3D Solidworks and AutoCAD
• Strong sense of visual design
• Good understanding of modern materials and processes – understand particularly plastics, alloy and metal parts
• Ideally be a Mechanical Engineer
• Be well versed in lean manufacturing processes
• Working knowledge of electronics
• Marine experience is ideal
