JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client is a well established marina in Leicestershire who are looking for an experienced inland waterways broker with a hands-on general manager approach. The ideal candidate needs to have an engineering background they will also be in charge of a marina which holds 120 vessels.

Responsible for the day to day running of all marina operations, including the following:-


    Staff management including setting weekly tasks and reviewing and carrying out 6 monthly staff appraisals.
    Boat sales, new and used boats as well as sailaway’s.
    Mooring sales both casual and permanent
    Chandlery sales, overseeing the ordering process.
    Meeting with suppliers, to identify new products and increase margins.
    Overseeing brokerage/mooring contracts and administration
    Advertising, marketing and promotion, including ensuring review of websites and Ebay Shop and their content.
    Overseeing social media i.e providing content and updates for LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook.
    Ensuring overall site maintenance is carried out, plus ensuring service contracts are in place for key items.
    Ensuring the marina adheres to health and safety rules.
    Attend networking events


The General Manager will be expected to achieve targets set against a plan that will be put together by the Directors in conjunction with the General Manager.

Salary

£25,000 - OTE £35,000 + Company Car and Mobile Phone

    Commission from every boat sale.
    Holidays 22 days per year plus bank holidays.  Any bank holiday worked can be taken in lieu.
