JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client is looking to recruit a Tier 2 boat master for a Passenger Vessel with a prestigious family owned Boat Hire Business.
The successful candidate must have the following
- Tier 2 Boat masters License with an endorsement of 250 passengers or more, local knowledge of the area is not necessary, but you need to have held the certificate for 8 years or more.
- A basic understanding of Marine Engineering with experience of painting steel boats
- Understand the basic workings of a bar such as coolers, pumps etc. As well as being responsible for the correct stocking
- Excellent People skills with customers and fellow crew
Main Duties:
- You will need to keep up to date of new legislations
- Keep up to date with the DSMC so you can deal with the MCA Inspections.
- To be responsible for the safe passage of vessel and passengers at all times.
- Liaise and consult with Operations Manager and Directors.
- To train/motivate the new crew as well as being in command of the vessel and its crew
- To help out with General Boat yard duties when required
Salary
£25,000 + overtime on evenings and weekends
3% of your salary towards a pension
Would also consider a private health plan for the first year
Will need to work nights when needed and every weekend from April – September
