The Solent is one of the busiest waterways in the UK, with an extensive leisure marine collective based across a number of towns and cities in the local area. With the majority of these craft being privately owned, there are numerous engineering firms along the various rivers that feed into the Solent.
Based on the Hamble River, this firm has long been one of the staple members of local business supplying engineering services to the general public, from a basic service to a 4hp outboard through to a full engine rebuild on a 300hp diesel inboard. With such a diverse range of different craft on the river, this business has grown to be incredibly versatile and cater to a huge range of products.
Based from the on site office, the Engineer Manager will take the lead of 7 staff, consisting of engineers and office staff. You'll oversee the day to day running of the business, including troubleshooting, hands-on engineering, administration and business development. A vesatile individual with exceptional engineering knowledge, strong computer literacy and a great customer manner, you'll enjoy the variety of your job whilst assisting the overall management to push the brand forwards.
Your experience will have been gained on leisure craft, including sailing yachts, motoryachts, RIBs and light commercial boats, working with both newbuild and refit projects and with a reasonable grasp on not only engineering, but also electrical, carpentry and GRP Repair.
