JOB DESCRIPTION
Universal Marina is a well-established, privately-owned marina on the Hamble River with a growing reputation for providing services of the highest standard. Our on-site yacht care facility is expanding and we have a vacancy for an experienced, highly-organised, efficient and self-motivated Yacht Technician/Estimator to join the team.

We require someone with a minimum of 3 years of direct experience working in a yacht/motorboat maintenance role to use our computer-based work programme to deal with customers enquiries, estimate for new work and support/manage the accepted works through to completion. It is a varied role that requires a high level of customer communication, organisational skills, computer-literacy and the ability above all to prioritise effectively.

The role is mostly office-based but will require visiting customers/their vessels on site or around the Hamble area, beyond if necessary.

Interviews will last between 2 and 2.5hrs and will include an assessment of your estimating and organisational skills.

The successful candidate will be able to satisfy the following requirements:
1) Minimum of 3 years of direct experience working in a yacht/motor-boat maintenance role
2) Have proven experience dealing with purchasing, suppliers and subcontractors, and the management of them.
3) Have strong written & verbal communication skills & experience communicating with customers
4) Have the ability to organise themselves and the people around them very effectively
5) Be highly computer-literate
6) Proven ability to continuously manage changing priorities & deadlines under pressure
7) Be self-motivated, positive thinking and an excellent team-player
8) Be professional & adhere to company policies in your appearance, manner, in your work and when representing the company at all times
9) Be willing to work extra hours when deadlines demand
10) Carry out other works as requested
