PROCUREMENT MANAGER - SOUTHAMPTON, UK

Ocean Safety is seeking to appoint a Procurement Manager to lead its procurement department.

This is a new position following departmental restructuring and will be a core position to ensure the smooth supply of stock and product to the various areas of the business.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director the successful applicant will have at least five years experience in procurement and purchasing and must illustrate an in depth knowledge of: -

    * Developing Supplier Relationships & Supply Chain Ethics
    * Leading Supplier Negotiations in coordination with Managing Director.
    * Goods In (Logistics with Operations (Imports etc))
    * Coordinate Special Purchases and their deliveries with Operations Dept.
    * Manage Returns & Replacements to suppliers and ensure credits are correct.
    * Monitor Stock Levels and ensure stock is available as required.
    * Stock Creation
    * UK & Foreign supplier visits

The successful candidate will demonstrate;

Evidence of strong negotiation and communication skills, as well as the ability to work accurately and methodically to ensure deadlines are met. Good computer knowledge including an understanding of accounting systems is vital.

The successful applicant will need to be highly motivated with a flexible approach to allow them to meet the changing demands of the department.
