Rockley Watersports based in Poole, are excited to be offering the opportunity for a motivated, outgoing and hardworking individual in a Centre Senior role for the coming 2017 season. Rockley Watersports is one of the leading providers of watersports training and school activity trips in the UK. Based in Poole, with the stunning back drop of Poole Harbour, Rockley has over 40 years experience in the Watersports industry. At Rockley we pride ourselves on being one of the premier training centres in the UK, working with an amazing team of individuals who are responsible for offering the highest quality watersports training and holidays for all our customers.
The successful candidate will join a highly experienced team who are continuously looking to expand the number of high-level courses that Rockley offer. Last year the team welcomed over 1000 students through the doors to take part in a variety of RYA courses from sailing to Power boating, we delivered activity programmes to 800 school children from 24 different schools and ran over 40 RYA Instructor Courses. Rockley pride themselves on developing their staff and creating opportunities for career progression.
Working Pattern:
Low Season based on 35 hours – (to include weekends)
High Season based on 42 hours over 6 days per week
Main Roles and Responsibilities
- Running a wide range of RYA courses from beginner to advanced to both adults and children. May also include multi hull if the candidate holds the relevant qualifications.
- Assisting with the organisation and delivery of our Schools & Groups programme.
- Running weekly programmes, whilst liaising directly with the Centre Management team delivering fun, active and rewarding trips to the youngsters that come to us.
- To assist with the practical delivery of on-water BTEC Level 3 Sport sessions.
- Overseeing other Instructors & Staff Development assisting and advising where necessary.
- Duty Senior on shore SI being responsible for the Centre in the absence of the Centre Manager & Chief Instructor.
Essential Qualifications:
- RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor
- RYA Powerboat Instructor
- 2 years experience working within an RYA training centre
Desirable, but not essential:
- RYA Powerboat Trainer
- RYA Coach Assessor
- RYA Windsurf Trainer
- RYA Multi Hull Instructor
- RYA Advanced Instructor
- UKCC Level 1 or 2 Coach in Paddlesports
- RYA Windsurf Instructor
- RYA First Aid Trainer
- Mountain Bike Leader
- D1 Mini Bus licence
Salary
£16,500 to £19,000 pro rata / DOE and qualifications
