PROJECT MANAGER - £30K+ - EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND

JOB DESCRIPTION

A Project Manager is required in the Edinburgh (Scotland) area with strong competencies in software development and a fairly good understanding of structures and aerodynamics.  Working experience as project manager and knowledge of the marine industry are is preferred. Candidates must have good communication skills, be flexible and have a positive attitude.

Primary responsibilities are: (i) on time projects delivery, (ii) requirements capture in a timely and effective manner, (iii)  improve the efficiency of internal work flow when dealing with consultancy analysis projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide work organizational leadership: project planning and supervision
  • Ability to project manage multiple activities/tasks at the same time
  • Ability to review technical reports in English for final approval
  • Ability to assess the technical feasibility of new projects and plan required activities for new  products and/or custom version of existing products
  • Active participation in the preparation of project proposals, including being capable to review/set  project specifications, time schedules and milestones
  • Become the primary point of technical contact, both within our technical team and externally with prospective customers/partners.
  • Ability to supervise and proactively support the software development processes, by co-ordinating the research team with the software development team
  • Understanding of technical capabilities of SMAR Azure tools, and their application, including limitations, possible developments.
Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-years college or university in Software Engineering
  • A minimum of three years of working experience or an equivalent combination of education and working experience
  • Must be an independent thinker and team player
  • Excellent communication skills
Preferred Requirements:
  • Must have strong leadership skills
  • Must have experience in project management
  • Basic knowledge of software development languages C++/Windows
  • Understanding of aerodynamics, structural and aeroelastic analysis
  • Must be able to interact with and gather technical project requirements from prospective customers and partners
  • Must be fluent in English
SALARY

£30,000+ depending on experience and qualifications
Type of position: full time/permanent
Starting date: 2nd of July 2012
