SALES ENGINEER / AREA SALES MANAGER - £25,000 - £30,000 PA - BERKSHIRE, UK

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to:    Director / General Manager

Objective:         Achieve quarterly and annual sales targets.

Job Description

Sell monitoring and alarm systems, propulsion control systems and other products to ship owners, managers and shipyards.
Generate own sales leads by researching suitable companies and making a direct sales approach both by phone and personal visits.
Prepare quotations and follow up through to sale.
Build strong relationships with existing customers to enhance future sales.
Prepare forecasts and budgets on a monthly basis.
Help in preparing the annual budget.
Feedback to the development and management team new product ideas and industry trends and developments.
Any other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.
Please note the prime focus is on developing new customers.

Essential

Self starter.
Experience in the Marine Industry (>2Years), or extensive knowledge through other means.
Proven ability to sell effectively into the marine industry by forming strong relationships with the relevant buyers and influencers.
Ability to develop accounts from scratch.
Able to develop own sales material e.g. presentations and brochures.
Ability to effectively manage own sales records and leads system.
Complete comfort and competence in using the MS suite of tools, word, excel, and PowerPoint.
Current driving licence.
Prepared to travel in the UK extensively.
Prepared to travel world wide occasionally.
A can do flexible approach.

Preferable

Experience selling to Ships Superintendents in shipping companies and their managing agents.
Experience selling electronic or electrical systems.
Experience selling to the MOD.

SALARY

 £25,000 to £30,000 depending on experience
