SALES EXECUTIVE

JOB DESCRIPTION

A fantastic new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sales Executive has arisen within one of the most successful and well known dinghy manufacturing and distribution companies in the world.

This is an active front line selling role as part of a small multi tasked sales team that generates sales from the data base, internet, showroom, telephone and boat show/event prospects ensuring that all enquiries are dealt with efficiently.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities include:

• Sell the complete range of our clients products with the focus of reaching and exceeding sales targets (units and margins) as set.
• To be the customer’s point of contact in the showroom and will ensure that the retail facility is presented and maintained to a brand-leading standard delivering a first Class service to all customers and prospective customers.
• Efficient monitoring, maintenance and response to all enquiries and leads.
• Working with the Sales Order Processing Department to ensure that your customer’s orders are responded to in a timely and efficient manner.
• Attendance at all UK Boat Shows.
• Manage/attend /support events and demonstrations as the programme requires.
• Ensure that all relevant customer and prospect data is accurately recorded.

Product responsibilities:

Manage the specific product requirements of our clients products with regard to: -

• Class Association liaison and activity.
• Sales Campaign recommendations.
• Product performance and quality feed back.
• Recommendations for changes and improvements to specs.
• PR Opportunities.
• Demos and events.
• Advising/training other members of the sales team.
• Report on market trends in our client’s product Market Sector and react quickly to any change recommendations.
• Keep an up-to-date product profile of competitor’s products including latest pricing structure and market activity.
• Customer support and aftercare. to our clients existing customer bases.

General

• You will manage our clients demonstration boat stock, which includes ensuring: -

o The stock value forecast is met.
o The stock is turned annually.
o The stock figure on the system reflects the physical stock.
o The boats are regularly serviced and cleaned and at all times in first class condition.
o An accurate up to date record is kept of the location of all boats and equipment.

Candidate profile:

• A background of front line selling. (Preferably in the marine environment).
• Computer literate.
• Have an active sailing background.
• Have outstanding communication and commercial negotiation skills.
• Sound organisational skills.
• RYA qualified (Powerboat/sailing).
• Familiar with best practice use of a prospect database.
• Self motivated by sales targets and customer satisfaction.

SALARY

£24,000 pa with a sales bonus of £4,500 pa.
