Due to continued expansion, a luxury boat manufacturer on the South Coast requires a Naval Architect to join their Design Team and continue with the brands evolution of both its excellent existing range, and also its up and coming releases. With a growing order book, the teams expansion shows that this is a stable and well established brand that offer some fantastic growth potential, and in a time when the industry is somewhat volatile, a strong level of stability.
You will be a degree qualified Naval Architect, with experience working extensively with Composite structures in either the leisure marine or high performance commercial sector, having 2 or more years professional experience following your degree qualification. As this manufacturer build their products using either wet lay-up or infusion methods, a strong understanding of these will also be key! Hands-on laminating experience would also be key, but not essential
You will be covering structural mouldings, calculations and testing, and be working closely with other areas of the design department through the process to ensure that each project is covered to the highest of standards. You will need to posses a strong understanding of the various classification rules, weight calculations, stability information and more, and be able to demonstrate these in an effective manner at all times.
Desirable experience would include working for a production boatbuilder in a fast paced environment, and all possession of a strong level of self-sufficiency.
