Part-time Sailing Department Support Assistant at Itchenor Sailing Club
Rates of Pay – £6.50 – £7.50/hr Depending on experience.
Core hours 8:00 – 17:30 three days a week increasing to 4/5 days a week during the busy sailing season (May to Sept).
A knowledge or interest in Sailing is essential and an interest in events would be helpful. This busy role requires someone who is very efficient and has excellent communication skills and a friendly approach. You will be needed to work at weekends and a day or two in the week. You will be working as part of a small team and must be capable of using your initiative and turning your hand to any task. You will be answering the telephone, dealing with queries face to face and handling email enquiries. It would be helpful if you could also help the Boatswain with marine based maintenance tasks or drive the small club boats if required. This is a great working environment in which to work in a stunning location.
Duties:
To assist in providing administrative support for all sailing activities.
Maintain the member's duty roster through the system.
Event organisation. Collect and process event entries, prepare event documentation.
To advise on training opportunities at the club for members and liaise with local sailing instructors.
Maintain the Stage Berth and Race Fees information.
To assist the Boatswain with occasional tasks with the club boats.
To ensure that the Support Boat Safety Bags are checked & replenished.
Keeping the yard, forecourt, staging, pontoons and waterfront area clean and tidy, including ensuring hoses are coiled tidily.
Acting as one of the Club's first aiders (after training) when necessary.
Such other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.
