JOB DESCRIPTION
Fantastic opportunity to join a new ambitious company group based in Shanghai with offices in Hong Kong and Sanya, Hainan Island.
We currently have two factories building a range of high quality yachts between 23 - 50ft for both the domestic & export markets. Plans are in place to expand production facilities to 5 factories with a capability to produce an expanded range of yachts (sail & power) up to 80+ft This company is striving to be an industry leader and aiming to be the largest Chinese Marina Clubs operator and domestic boat manufacturer within the next 5 years.
The company recognizes the need for a European skills and knowledge base and already has two British managers in key positions.
This is a fresh thinking company offering excellent long term prospects to help build from scratch the whole Marina Developments and Marina clubs division, in around 5+ locations in China.
We are currently looking for someone with specific Marina operations & management experience and sound knowledge of Marina business development and the ability to get a group of marinas up and running from zero.
This will be very hands on role to start with and will develop rapidly underneath the successful candidate as new positions are filled.
The successful candidate will in time become managing director of the whole Marina clubs and Marina development operation.
As this company is growing fast, we would also invite 'on spec' applications from candidates with other skills, in yacht building, production, design and yacht sales.
Overview of key responsibilities:
. Propose suitable locations for Marinas or Marina Club developments, both on coastal and inland lake locations.
. Gauging suitability and feasibility of proposed locations.
. Meet with and negotiate with local government officials to achieve planning approval and access any possible development grants
. Completing preliminary Marina planning & design
. Selecting most suitable marina equipment, either using in-house manufacturing facilities or outside suppliers.
. Developing in-house Pontoon & equipment manufacturing facility both for own use and possible outside sale.
. Overseeing marina construction teams to ensure on-time completion
. Ensure all appropriate marina health & safety laws are complied with.
. Hiring, training, and motivation of all Marina operations staff and Marina club staff to offer the highest standards of service you would expect to find in Europe.
. A good sense of humour is essential to tackle all the likely challenges: e.g. All pigs fed, watered and ready to fly at all times!!
Essential Skills:
. Provide technical expertise in the area of Marina design & development.
. Relevant hands-on experience with Marina Operations and management.
. Experienced in managing and motivating individuals and teams
. Willing to settle in a new culture for at least 2 years.
SALARY
A good package to include all travel & accommodation is on offer to the right candidate. Salary paid 'Offshore' in US$ so effectively tax free.
